Adults ordering from kid's menu?

Hi All!

Does Disney enforce that only children can order off of the kid's menu? Especially at BOG? The children's menu seems much more in line with what we eat and also we have a few adults in our party that can only eat small portions due to gastric bypass surgery.

Thanks :)

Yes they can. We have only had breakfast, but the kids meals are very small. The kids French toast even isn't a whole piece of bread and the fruit is a couple small chunks.

My two teens ordered off of the kid menu, with no problem! We did pre-order, so it wasn't questioned at all (we've never been questioned anywhere). We've eaten lunch there twice. While not huge, they each got a decent sized grilled turkey and cheese and fries.

90% of the time Adults can order off of the kid's menu. However, Disney is with in their own rules to deny adults the ability to order from the kid's menu. Some places may charge more for an adult cup to come with the kids plate.

Also at buffets, family style, or all you care to eat adults (and disney adults) will be charged as adults.

I have ordered off the kids menus several times when not that hungry and had no issues. I also had the chef come out and suggest a much smaller portion of one of the adult menu items paired with steamed veggies at a reduced cost and that was amazing. You have options...do not be afraid to ask!

I wonder if you might be more likely to encounter a problem with several adults in a party wanting to order off the kids menu . . .

We've never had a problem - last year at our BOG lunch, our whole party of 6 ordered from the kids menu and we were teens, 40s and 50.

They may have updated the kids meal(s). When we had BOG breakfast, the French toast was four pieces and the fruit was a full cup.

I would love to order the "Grilled Shrimp" from the kids menu but adult sized portion. I will ask but have a feeling that I won't be able to do that. I don't mind paying adult prices.

My DFi always orders from the kids menu. She never eats an adult portioned meal, no matter where we are. And if she's still hungry, she just steals some of my food, of course :rolleyes2

They must have because when we had it last September, it was one piece of bread cut in 4 parts and you recieved 3 of those parts and your fruit for a serving. Not sure what they did with the 4th part of the piece of bread.

@powellrj - it looked like four triangles from an oversized piece of toast, and a cup of cantaloupe & honeydew with 2-3 strawberries on top

I specifically remember that it was four because I had seen pictures of the FT meal and was surprised that my daughter's was a more reasonable portion.

This is what ours looked like but instead of triangles we had fingers, but there were 3 of them and then we had 2 pieces of melon and 2 grapes.

@powellrj - yeah, that's what I was expecting

I don't have a picture, but it was four overlapping pieces length-wise on the plate with a larger cup of fruit on one corner and the syrup on the other

Wow. That's not much food.

Good to know the "9 and under" comment on the menus isn't enforced. We have a lot of places we would like to eat at but the Disney meals are huge and we don't always agree on one to share.

It's worth asking. I have had many restaurants at WDW make me a "adult sized" version of something on the kids menu.
