My husband & I are taking our first "adults only" trip to Disney World in January, we would love suggestions on where we should eat. We will only be there for 2 short days, so we would prefer table service restuarants. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Will you be on the DDP, where are you staying and do you prefer eating in or out of the parks? Those will probably effect responses.

Hi,

For an adult's only dinner I would suggest Victoria & Albert's in the Grand Floridian ( If you can afford it as it is a bit expensive @ $125 per person ( extra $60 for wine pairings ).

Alternatives's could be Citrico's and Narcoossee's ( both also at the Grand Floridian)

We are going on our anniversary trip (adults-only) in January also. We are doing Artist Point for dinner. Have been told that it is nice and relaxing, if you go later in the evening after 8pm.

Also I would suggest Kona Cafe. Dbf and I went in September and we had a great meal. We had great food, great waitress, and a great experience all together. We also did Raglan Road. It was also later in the evening and the live band was playing. They also have real beer. Tokyo Dining was nice too.

Jiko is my favorite Disney restaurant. I think it's got a great vibe and an excellent menu, especially if you're the type to order appetizers. Their flavors don't appeal to everyone, though. If that's the case for you, you may want to consider some of the Swan and Dolphin restaurants for dinner. Shula's, bluezoo and Kimonos have great food and a more adult atmosphere. Their proximity to Jellyrolls for after-dinner drinks and entertainment is a bonus.

For lunch, I like the Cabana Bar at the Dolphin. It's a relaxing little bar near the pool. They have great sandwiches, salads and flatbreads, and good drinks. (Though I recommend avoiding the frozen daiquiris and margaritas, which are from a mix and taste mostly like ice.) The Grand Floridian Café also has an excellent lunch. The Grand Floridian Burger with lobster hollandaise is amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the orecchiette pasta of the day when I had it.

For breakfast, I don't think Kouzzina can be beat. There's a good mix of Mediterranean and American flavors on their breakfast menu, and the bloody Marys are outstanding.

V&A is the best. After that we like bluezoo. Il Mulino is also quite nice. Out of Disney's restaurants I think Citricos has the best combination of good food with a more adult atmosphere. I would probably pick Jiko after that.

Bluezoo is our favorite lounge for drinks. For lunch I would pick Sanaa, Wave, Turf Club and Brown Derby.

We usually do In Room Dining for breakfast.

I agree with V&A as the best restaurant in the Orlando area. I also agree with it being pricey compared to other WDW restaurants. It is a classic example of you get what you pay for. V&A is one of only 41 AAA 5 diamond restaurants in the entire continental US. It is also the only WDW restaurant that has a dress code. Coat (tie optional) for men and dress or pant suit for the ladies - no shorts, ball caps or mickey t-shirts here! You can share a wine pairing to cut costs or like DW & I, to keep from getting knee crawling by the end of the meal. If you share, they give you a short glass of the appropriate wine with your course. V&A is not on the DDP but does take TIW in the main dining room.

Jiko's, Flying Fish, Kouzzina, Shula's, Bluezoo and Yachtsman Steakhouse are all great places to eat. Not mentioned here are Bistro de Paris and Olivia's. Bistro de Paris is in the France pavillion at Epcot above Chefs de France. You enter on the back side of Chefs. Bistro has been voted the best theme park restaurant in Florida multiple years in a row. Make a later ADR when it is quieter and enjoy a partial view of the fireworks display. For a less expensive alternative in a small restaurant with perhaps the friendliest CM's around, you might consider Olivia's located at the OKW resort. The menu is varied and the food is excellent. It is a quiet laid back place (just like OKW) and well worth the short bus ride.

In all reality, every one of the places mentioned in this thread are very good or great. A lot will depend on your food preference and your budget. Whatever you choose, take some pics and give us a review when you return. Bon appetit!

My vote is hands down Bistro de Paris, our favorite place in WDW...top notch service, ambiance and food..a perfect adults only meal.

After Bistro, I'd highly recommend Artist Point, Citricos & Bluezoo.

The best recommendation I can make for going adults only is to take your time and enjoy yourself. As adults you might focus more on entertainment and less on rides.

Thank you guys so much!!! I really appreciate the suggestions, you've given me a lot to think about. I had thought about V&A, but forgot there's a dress code...my husband doesn't do jackets & ties! lol....In response to annnewjerz, we will be staying at AKV & we will be paying out of pocket for our dinners...husband doesn't mind to spend $$$ on good food, but it has to be good. We really aren't picky eaters & like to try new stuff. We just want something special for this trip. We will be celebrating 20 years together (been together since we were in highschool, not been married that long) in February, so this is kind of a anniversary trip for us. So we really appreciate the suggestions.

You've already gotten some really great suggestions for restaurants so I won't confuse the issue more. I'd just suggest that you schedule your evening meal for later (say after 7:30) when most of the families will be finishing their meals. You'll find that as the evening goes on the restaurant will become quieter and you'll be able to enjoy each others company more.

Also, if you enjoy wines both Jiko and Artist Point have a really good wine list. Jiko focuses on wines from Africa, as you'd expect. Artist Point focuses on wines from the Pacific Northwest.

Since you're staying at AKV, Jiko is kind of an no-brainer. For the other night.....several different ways to go. I have never been to Bistro but is mostly gets good marks and is not on the DDP so may be a bit less crowded. FF and AP are great signatures.

Or try Ohana if you can get it an hour or so before Wishes. When you check in, explain that it's a special adult-only trip and ask for a table with a good view of the Castle, and offer to wait until one comes up. Before Wishes it's rather magical to eat while the Castle softly changes colors in the dark. Then when Wishes starts Ohana dims the lights and pipes in the music. Lovely.
