Looking for opinions on the best DVC Resort for our next "Adults Only" trip. We may hit a park but none are planned. Looking for pool time, food & drink, entertainment, etc. We own at BCV and RIV and those are options but thinking of trying to stay elsewhere if we can get in to mix it up. Thanks!

poly for the two pools and monorail crawl. Trader sams is always fun and Kona cafe has great food. Seeing magic kingdom fireworks from the main pool with the music piped in is our favorite.
SSR paddock pool and main pool are great pools too. Being able to walk to disney springs is clutch for adults only trip.

We've never stayed at SSR but I know the walk to DS would make my wife (life) very happy. Thanks for the feedback!

I didn’t respond because Riviera wasn’t on there. Last May, my wife and I had a WONDERFUL trip at Riveria. It was so laid back as we did whatever we wanted to do. For a few nights stay, we had no schedule and it was great!

Yes it only let me have that many options. We are owners at Riviera and Beach Club and those 2 options are very much still on the table! Thanks for the feedback.

Our favorites for a quick adults only trip are:
AKL-J - animals, bar, food, pool all in one place.
BWV/BCV - either as walking/exercising around the lake is great, watching fireworks for two parks.
SSR - as previously mentioned DTD.
Have you though about some things to do while you are there with no parks planned?
Depending upon what you are into:
sports: golf, mini-golf, fishing, marathon, bowling, ESPN Club, WWS/ESPN Zone, etc
shopping: DS (DTD), area outlet malls, large scale malls
drinking: Jellyrolls, Raglan Road, monorail tour of resorts, walking tour of resorts in the Boardwalk area
movies: DS (DTD) 24 screen theater some with meals served by waiters
night clubbing: Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, Raglan Road, Citywalk
resort tours: monorail tour of resorts, Boardwalk around the lake tour of resorts, horse drawn tour of FWC, AKL/AKV
offsite: Gaylord Palms Resort, Citywalk, swamp tour
eating: Formal GF 5* Chef's Table @ V&As

If you are not planning on going into Epcot much, this is a great opportunity to stay in one of the non-Epcot resorts:
SSR - walk to Disney Springs
OKW - large rooms, boat to Disney Springs (if it's running)
CCV/BRV - great secluded feeling yet could access the monorail resorts via boat (either directly to the Contemporary if running or boat to MK and connect to monorail)
BLT/PVB/VGF - access to each of the resorts via monorail, great if you like the restaurants
AKV - savannah view is fantastic on a resort only stay

If you expect to spend a lot of time at Disney Springs for the restaurants/shopping, this is where SSR shines. If not, try one of the lodges (CCV/BRV - whatever is available) or AKV (Jambo or Kidani - both are good).

Did a resort only, adult only trip May 2021 upon vaccination. SSR was incredible. Spacious, lots to explore, perfectly manicured grounds, excellent quiet pools. The room renovation is INCREDIBLE and the rooms product is now at the top along with Riviera Resort.

The food was eh - decent beer & wine selection that we could bring back to the room from the marketplace/Artist Palette (we didn't have a car). However, the walk (and it's my understanding that the ferries are back now?) to DS was the best part of the trip. We had ressies there every night and I also enjoyed getting my Starbucks (or Joffrey's) from there in the morning. I also did Gideon's one day and lined up so I could go in right at opening. That was fab. Lots of great shopping, which I know you know about.

Oh - edited to add that we used a few more pts for "preferred" location. Asked for Congress Park so we could be closer to DS, but we arrived early & there were rooms ready at the Main location closer to Lobby so we agreed to that room. It was absolutely fine. I used the quiet pool over at Congress Park. Loved all the plants and such. Gorgeous resort. I personally think the renovated rooms product coupled with walking distance to the improved Disney Springs (versus the old Downtown Disney) makes SSR one of the best DVC resorts at this time, especially for adults.

Cooper creek or Boulder ridge. Great pool and theming relaxing during the day. Easy boat ride to the monorail resorts for a crawl. One of the best hidden gems with geyser grill for a nice beverage or two. Night time water parade. Artist’s point for dinner.

All of these resorts are covered in kids. If you aren't going to parks, I would skip Orlando and go to a real beach resort. Or, if you must go to Orlando, I'd do something more adult themed, like the JW or the Margaritaville.

We've done 2 adult only trips in the last year and actually don't mind the kids everywhere haha. We do take other trips outside of Orlando too and have a trip lined up for Cabo next summer. We try and do a healthy mix of places with and without our children. But Disney is our go to location! Thanks for the ideas!

This is very helpful info thanks! SSR is on the short list at this point as my wife and I love DS. I was looking at the preferred room locations and its good to know either location is close enough to walk over. Also SSR seems to have very good availability at 7 months so we can modify our existing reservation at our home resort easily.

That was our thinking too as both of our home resorts are Epcot Resorts. A great chance to try somewhere new! Thanks

Don't forget the Bison Burger! I can't believe I waited so long to try this! Sooooo good!!!!!

My vote would be for SSR. Pre-Covid, I really enjoyed their on-site restaurants. I haven't really tried them post-covid though, so I'm not sure if they are still as good as they used to be. It's the walking distance to DS that gives it my vote for an adults-only trip where you might not be doing parks. There is also the golf course if anyone in your party golfs.

Since you aren't planning on the parks I'd say SSR because it has several pools and you can walk to Disney Springs. 2nd choice would be OKW because it's quieter and has lots of pools.

We love Bison. How have I not heard of this yet lol. Thanks for the tip 👍

OKW has a huge following it seems like. We'd love to stay there someday. I think the shorter walk to DS in this case with SSR is probably the difference maker this time.

my kids and I stayed in a studio at OKW Dec 2020. It's a gorgeous property and very peaceful, but SSR is newly refurbed and so close to Springs that I would probably pick that too.
