Adults Only Trip - November 2014

Just booked an adults only vacation for myself and my husband. This will be our first vacation together since we had our first son (we have 2) almost 3 years ago. I can't wait. Anyone have any must dos for an adults only trip? We play to do the keys to the kingdom tour. Anything else? We are currently booked at our home resort SS but are going to try to switch at the 7 month mark.

DH and I did an adults only trip Nov 2012. I can't say that I have any must do's except to do the things you can't do with little ones. We rode the big rides that my kids hate and ate at TS restaurants (not character meals). We typically don't do a lot of TS with the kids.

We enjoyed being on our own schedule and took our time. It was a very nice trip and hope that we can do it again soon.

DH and I are doing the same next November, I booked ours 2 days ago! We haven't had an adults only vaca for about 3 years (and we've got 3 kids!) so, we are totally pumped to go to WDW alone! We plan on eating at several signature restaurants, spending more time in EPCOT World Showcase (kids aren't really big fans) and going on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I'm trying to talk DH into Cirque du Soleil La Nouba as well, but so far, he has no interest. I think we're going to resort hop and see the Christmas decorations as well (another thing my kids weren't interested in). Hope you have fun!!

Resort hopping is a great idea. We are thinking about doing the Christmas party to see if it would be worth it to take our kids. Right now the plan is to do the rides we can't do with the boys and then the tour. Did you book the Keys to the Kingdom tour yet? It doesn't seem like we need to do that this early but I don't want to miss out. Hope you have fun as well!

Quiet time. Don't forget quiet time. If you're able to switch to another resort that has a beach, sit on the beach together at sunset with a drink in hand. Take a late night walk around your resort, arm-in-arm. Laze in a hot tub and talk. Whatever your choices, don't forget to revel in your alone time with each other.

If you're planning on being there the first part of November, the Food & Wine festival should still be going on. My DD (23) & I did it this year and it was great! Lots of different foods and great drinks to pair them up.

Jellyrolls is a must when we go alone. Lots of fun. Go over to the Poly Beach at night grab a drink and sit on the beach and watch the water parade then fireworks. Magical. Enjoy your time together, it'a a whole different experience. º0º

Be careful! We loved our first no kids trip so much we bought more points so we could do it every year! Things we have done without our son include:
-A monorail tour of resorts, stopping to get a drink at each resort, in particular we were trying mimosas until lunch time came around and we switched to other long island ice teas.
-This May we are running in the Expedition Everest Challenge
-We attempted the Ultimate Magic Kingdom Tour, where we tried to see/ride/experience every single attraction in the Magic Kingdom in one day. My little 3 year old is years away from being able to attempt that with us.
-Spent lots of time at the water parks because my son is too little to enjoy them yet.

Definitely take time to go slow. Schedule your fast passes for the afternoon so you can sleep in and lounge in bed if that sounds appealing to you.

One thing that I do, that I'm sure others might balk at, is that I don't call home. Not a single call! I go in with the mindset that if there is something that needs my attention, Grandma will call me. So I totally leave EVERYTHING behind and it is so freeing to just think about myself and my husband for a few days.

Great thoughts DisneyRegulars! This will be our very first time when we are both away from the boys for more than a night. I'm not sure I can not call home but I may try! We will be there in May during the EE challenge but will have our boys with us. Otherwise I considered participating. Have fun!

We've done an adults only trip on our 15 and 20 year anniversaries. We don't often travel without the kids but we really enjoyed these trips. One of the best things we did on our last adults only trip was go to typhoon lagoon and just lounge. We both took reading material, grabbed a lounge chair and pretended we were in the tropics! It was wonderful!

We had an adults only last November. Really enjoyed taking a day trip to Coco Beach. Also bought tics for a Cindy Lauper show at House of Blues. They book some fun show! But, check their schedule ahead of your trip since most shows are sold out.
