I have been pestering ABD and while it's Still Not Guaranteed....we are up to a "family" of 15!!! (We were holding steady at 12 for months)

We are waiting to be guaranteed to make DLP plans....so...at 66 days...I am getting excited...

I'm curious....anyone on the Boards joining us on this trip??? Can't wait to meet ya'll!!!

Just know that some trips are never formally "guaranteed". They don't have a set policy on that.

Sayhello.....our friends were told July 11. We are trying to get the rest of our plans set....That would be 60 days.

I know they can still cancel to the day...but didn't they *used* to tell you at Day 70???

I really was just curious about the three new people...to see if they were on the Boards. Aquamarine Steph was the only one from our first ABD.

Yes, they *used* to do it automatically at 70 days. "No cancellations after 70 days, except for dire reasons beyond our control". But that went away a *LONG* time ago. They will, occasionally, using criteria that none of us have been able to decipher, decide that a handful of trips are "guaranteed". But it's only a small subset. Some trips I've been on have never been given a guaranteed status.

Well, I would. But you'll have to decide what you're comfortable with. :) Since you're doing the Adults Only itinerary in the "shoulder season", it's way more likely to go with 15 people. Unless a lot of people drop out, I think you're pretty safe (at least from my experience in the past). *Usually*, from what I've seen, if they were going to cancel it for lack of people, they would have done it long before now. I would also think the fact that they've assigned Adventure Guides to the trip is a hopeful sign.

What is "shoulder season"????

Just before and just after the "high season" which is normally June through August. So, generally, May & Sept are considered "shoulder season" for these kinds of trips (European). Kind of the transition from "Off Season" to "High Season" and "High Season" to "Off Season".
