DH and I have two adrs for our hmoon (CP and Ohana bfast). I 've done too many to count as a child or with my kids, but never adults only. Did you feel weid? Were the characters annoying? Dh has never been, so I am thinking more in his terms. He is pretty laid back and a big kid, so he should have fun with it. I can totally see him playing along with being harrassed by Tigger or something!

My hubby and I do character meals and we've never felt out of place or been ignored or annoyed by characters. We don't always book this kind of meal, but they've been fun when we have. Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are two that we've really enjoyed.

We're not big buffet people so when we do a character meal we typically choose a breakfast ... it's hard to screw that up! :lmao:

Congrats on your wedding and I hope you have a lovely WDW honeymoon. :goodvibes

We go all the time! DH is pretty shy with the face characters but loves the costumed ones.

I say go for it and have a blast!

:goodvibes We did many, many character meals as 2 adults, back before baby made 3, lol. We never felt weird, but both me and DH are pretty laid back and don't tend to care what anyone else thinks. We never had a problem with them being "annoying", which I assume means you're asking if they pay you too much attention? If so, we always had more of problem with getting enough attention, rather than too much. Just make sure that if you guys are wanting to interact with the characters, try to make it clear somehow - I always try to mention to the server that we are excited to be eating with the characters, and when I see that the characters are getting ready to come by our table, put on a big smile and act glad to see them. :thumbsup2

DH and I have ADR's for Chef Mickey's this year. I love character meals. Chef Mickey's or any character meal is great for children OR adults. We made ADR's for my in-laws a few years ago for Chef Mickey's and the loved it. And the pictures they had for us to see where great. Have fun!

The first trip DH and I made to WDW included a charcter breakfast at the Polynesian.

Growing up, we always had one character breakfast per trip, and I just couldn't see NOT doing one. I did feel a bit silly at first, but DH loved it (of course, his first trip). After awhile, though, I didn't care. I mean, we had a complete blast, and if any of the diners thought anything about it, well...they're never going to see us again, anyway. ;)

I say go and have a wonderful time! You'll be glad you did. :thumbsup2

we're two adults and have been to many character breakfasts. They just stop by and we say hi and can we take a picture, so we pass the camera back and forth and each take one. Then they leave. However i say things like "make sure you get him to smile"-which ends up w/ a cute shot of DF with an extra big smile.

At Ohana one time, Chip came over and was hanging out, he knelt down like he was sitting at the table and he pointed at DF's goatee and gave a thumbs up. Then he gestured that he wanted one. Then i said where's Dale and he motions the "crazy" w/ his finger circling his ear, like "Dale's crazy" and then he motions "smells bad too" It has HILARIOUS!
I'll always remember that!

Definitely go for it! We always include a lot of character meals on our trips, and it's just my DH and me. The characters always spend time at our table, and they often will try to get another nearby CM to take our pictures, so the two of us can be in it together. When they don't, we sometimes get a CM or a person sitting nearby who doesn't look like they'd mind. Though we often take individual shots with the characters. We both love it. Makes you feel like a kid again. Part of the WDW magic. Definitely do it and have a terrific honeymoon! Make sure to get the Just Married buttons. You'll get tons of attention from CMs and maybe some pixie dust along the way. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

I eat at character meals all the time, and I've never felt weird about it.

It's just my DH and I and we've done character meals and really enjoyed it. On our next trip we actually have ADRs for 4 character meals!

Oh heck yes!!! Do it!!! Trust me, no one will think anything about it. Remember you are there to have fun, get enveloped with the magic, and be able to try to FORGET YOU ARE GROWN UP!!! It's one of the BIG reason I dont want a car on property, I do NOT want to have responsibilities while I am in the 'magic zone'

We were there for our wedding/honeymoon last year. It was DH first trip to Disney so I threw him right into it! We did 5 character meals...went to Chef Mickey's, Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace. He loved all of them and interacted with the characters. If he didn't want to get in a picture, he was more than happy to take my picture with them!! :goodvibes

DH and I often do character meals. DH likes to mess with the characters...he is worse than a litle kid, so I try to keep him in line! They will come to your table even if you don't have kids, and I imagine they play off your reaction as to whether you want to "play" or just want to be left alone to eat. Yesterday at Garden Grill, we had our camera out on the table so they all came over and got into "pose" position because they guessed that we wanted pics.

We have never felt uncomfortable. There is something about Walt Disney World that brings out the "kid" in all of us. :goofy:

HAVE FUN with the character dinings. I actually have more pictures of my mom on trips we have taken to Disney World than any other pictures, pictures of she and I with various characters! It's wonderful! :goodvibes

Thanks for all of your replies. We are doing CP dinner (never been there) and O'Hana Bfast (been there, yum!). This will be dh's first trip to WDW, and I don't want to scare him, as there are many, many more trips in his future!:rotfl2:

my husband and I are doing CRT and Chef Mickey's when we go in Dec and looking forward to it:thumbsup2

My boyfriend and I are going to Chef Mickey's for dinner in January and I was also wondering if it was going to wierd if we didn't have any kids or if the characters were even going to stop by. It's good to know that they wonder ignore us.
