Does anyone know if there is a limit on the number of adults that can be in a room with the DVC? Our oldest son is thinking of flying down to join us. I always thought that it was just a number limit for DVC members.

I believe it's the number of bodies, doesn't matter what their age is (except if they're under 3 years old!).

There is an occupancy limit which we've "discussed" many times. The stated limits are 4 for studio and one BR, 8 for a 2 BR and 12 for a GV. You can have one extra if under 3. DVC hasn't been very strong at enforcing this. MS and the guides at times have told people it's OK to exceed the stated capacities so you will have to decide for yourself what you're comfortable with. There will be no extra bedding or roll aways. Good luck.

While not getting into how many can sleep in a room, are there any occupancy limits to how many people can be in a room? Could you throw a party for twenty of your closest friends (provided none of them pass out and sleep?)

Just out of curiousity - my party in a hotel room years are long gone.

I could be wrong but I believe the occupancy limits are for the number of people actualy staying in the room. As far as having guests for a 'little get together', I'm not sure what the policy is.

IMHO ----Common sense would dictate that visitors could exceed the occupancy limit as long as the "party" didn't cause problems(noise, etc) for the guests in the nearby units.

1 bedroom or 2 bedroom - no problem - studio - on my third trip as a DVC member we (mother and I) stayed in the 1-bedroom - in the studio were a bunch of college kids - there were only surpose to be 3 - but they partyed big time - so I think your neighbors might get a little upset about the partying if you happen to have a studio that is a lock-out

I think neighbors would get upset about a lot of noise regardless of the number of people in the room. One person with a stereo can be disturbing. On the other hand, fifteen people in a room doing silent meditation wouldn't disturb anyone.

I don't think the original post was about a party! I think the original question was how many adults allowed in a room. And it was answered nicely. Now drop it already!

You are correct. Unlike the other resort hotels, there is no extra charge for more than 2 adults in a DVC room. As long as you don't exceed the stated occupancy limits, all of the guests can be adults. As mentioned above, the occupancy limit for a studio or one bedroom is 4 people plus a child under 3. Ages of the four do not matter. There shouldn't be a problem if your son joins you.

Enjoy the trip!

I think the original question has been answered. I don't where the idea of a party came from at any rate Doc will probably close this thread soon, because they can get pretty nasty.

I think it was pretty clear the op was just asking if there is an extra charge for adults (in cro booked rooms, there are four bodies allowed in a room, but if more than two or those are adults there is a charge of $25 per person.) I don't think any such age requirements exist in dvc, just the regular room occupancy limits.
