Adult vs. Junior vs. Child

I hope someone can clear something up for me. I saw somewhere (some type of advertisement I think) that there was an Adult price, a Junior price (10-17 years old) and a Child's price (3-9 years old).

Can someone please explain the Junior thing? I was under the impression that I had to pay Adult ticket prices and dining prices for my 10 year old. What's the Junior category?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Ooh, I was able to find it. It's an ad from one of those Disney travel companies. It says:

and get the Disney Dining Plan FREE, a savings of over $194 per adult.**

Kids stay for a great rate, too. $223 - junior (10 – 17) / $184 - child (3 – 9)

So, what's with this Junior rate, vs. Adult rate? That's a pretty big price difference! And it's the free dining...so that's not really included in the price, right?

The price in the hotel? You know most hotels say that children under 18 stay free in an adults room, but maybe Disney you pay the junior price?

Does that mean that a 10 year old doesn't have to pay the Adult ticket price?

I think it is in their wording that is confusing. 3-9 is one price for dining and for purchasing theme park tickets. 10 and up pays the adult price for dining and tickets. A child in a room only under 18 just counts as an additional person in the room. 18 and older is considered an adult and pays the extra adult fee after there are 2 adults in the room.

its because the cost of the hotel is in the adult price the junior price is adult tickets but doesnt include any cost for the hotel and child price is child tickets
