I know adults aren't allowed to wear "face" character costumes....but has any adult here worn a theme-type outfit?

I'm going to MK for my birthday this week (tomorrow!) and I handmade a Minnie skirt and hairbow, to wear with a black top and yellow chucks...Who needs to be mature at 24? :rotfl2:

Has anyone else ever done anything like this? I know it's usually for kids, but aren't we all kids at Disney?

Yes, we are all kids and yes I have worn a theme-type outfit and I'm nearly twice your age. I've worn costumes during race weekends and had lots of fun with it. I've dressed up as Stinky Pete, Wreck it Ralph, Elvis (there a story behind that one) to name a few and I have others planned.

I have no issues with dressing in themed outfits (or making my husband match) and I'm twice your age. LOL

Check out Disneybound. For my trip I'm pulling some ideas from there.

DW and I dress in animal prints or safari outfits any time we stay at AKL or go to AK park.
We dress in Mickey colors, red, black, white, and yellow at anytime we go to MK park. We are 50+ & 60+.

I am also 24 and on my last trip, I did themed outfits of Minnie, Mickey, Donald, and Marie. Marie loved me! You're never too old to dress up.

I've definitely Disneybounded in the past and love it! Last trip a friend and I did:
-Buzz & woody hair bows
-tink & peter disneybound
-foltk bird & russel from up
-lottie (p&tf) and wreck it ralph
-ariel & rapunzel
It was a blast and we found we got a lot more interaction from the characters!!

I've got no idea what Disneybound is so I'll have to Google. But you guys remind me - a co-worker knows I like to sew and was suggesting I do a Minnie Mouse dress. I told him I didn't feel like sewing (I'm just finishing up a pretty complicated costume and need a break!) but I'll think about it. I'm 39 and have been to Disneyland's Halloween Party the last 2 years and LOVED to dress up both times!

So if you just do a "theme" outfit and not a real "costume", the CM's don't have a problem with it? Because I know they have a policy about not letting you wear costumes if you're older than, I think, 9 years. Wouldn't mind finding a way around it as long as it was comfy.
