Hi everyone! I am trying to find an elizabeth swann costume for halloween for adults but cant seem to come up with anythign! I was either thinking of one of the dresses she wears like the gold one or her pirateoutfit. I found something that looks similar to her pirate outfit but its $124 Pirate costume !! any ideas?

It's a standard Georgian dress. Almost any theatrical costume shop should have a similar dress available, though you might not be able to get that color.
The key to making it "her" is wearing the medallion.

Try ebay, they have many dresses there or if you can sew make your own for less!

I was elizabeth for halloween 2 years ago (in her nightgown aand robe) there were a few sites that had great views of the actual nightgown and robe. try ferdalumpfrumps. I am being elizabeth in her pirate costume this year. I'm using a simplicity pattern for a very jack-esque costume I am not going to make the coat ( I like being able to see the puffy-shirt. FInding a decent tri-corn is a pain. 2 years ago my husband made me a medallion out of fimo clay. I wanted somehthing more overstated than the coin they sell. I wanted ppl to notice it so they would recognize who I was. he sculpted it then used gold and black paint to antique it it was great. Several ppl stopped me to ask where I got it. One guy said he was a welder and had thought about welding one but that my way seemd so much easier.. I am using fimo again this year to fashion jacks belt buckles from some blowen up pics of the originals, wish me luck. Most great characters you can find costume guides online or studys by fashion stue=dents but E.S. Not so much, the best pic I got was from a childrens paper back (3.50) book at books a million called Swann Song.
Best of luck feel free to pm if you have any questions or ideas.

I had the same problem! :guilty: DS is going as Davy Jones, DH is going as Capt. Jack, so to keep with the theme, I thought I'd go as Elizabeth Swan in her pirate outfit. Well that was easier said than done! :sad2:

I purchased a pirate girl costume online which came with a striped skirt, puffy shirt, vest, tri-corn hat, boot covers, belt - the plan was to cut the skirt off and wear pants instead. Well, when it arrived it was horrid! It didn't fit and nothing about it looked like Elizabeth. I returned it and went back to the drawing board. :scratchin

I decided to buy individual pieces that matched her outfit as closely as I could. I found a puffy shirt at a local department store, I found an old riding-type jacket from like ten years ago that I cut the sleeves off to make a vest, I found knee-length brown pants and black boots with fold-over tops at a local discount retailer, I bought a tri-corn hat a local party supply store, I bought a sword holder at a local costume shop and borrowed one of DS's plastic swords.

I have to say it looks pretty awesome! :thumbsup2
Now that our costumes are ready, I am so excited for our first MNSSHP on Oct. 2!!! We will look like an awesome POTC2 trio! pirate:
