Adult Disney Fans, Please Respond!

Two more Disney fans here! I think we get just as excited talking about it as our kids do! I keep planning for future disney trips and what we will do and see! My inlaws think there is more to life than Disney. I think they are sheltered :teeth: .

We are planning our honeymoon, and even though we are older and our kids are grown, we wouldn't honeymoon anywhere else except disney, or vacation anyplace else for that matter :thumbsup2

I'm with the Disney Nuts! My employees think I'm crazy! We try to plan other vacations, but always go back to WDW. We own DVC, so that helps. But, we'll be out of points until August, so we must wait a while. Going in Dec, but will go to the beach this summer- wish it were Disney, though!

Totally Disney addicted… (and not planning to find help)

I love Disney (especially the parks).
I get up and think about Disney, Will have always some sort of Disney clothing on me every day, Think about Disney at work, visit Disney webs and of course work on our web, Think about Disney in the evening, Try to watch some Disney (park related) DVD or read some Disney (park related) book, and at night dream about Disney
I would go there every year if I could but living in Belgium doesn’t make that easy. Lucky for me it is only a 4 hour drive to Disneyland Resort Paris.
Everybody think I am totally crazy… They are right of course… But that doesn’t matter to me….
I am stopping now… I am going to dream about how to get to WDW again…

I have been a Disney fan forever. I am 53 years old and my 16 DS doesn't completely understand. I was a Mickey Mouse Club fan and my grandfather bought be "mouse" ears so I could wear them whenever the show came on. I remember when Disneyland opend and Walt would do a program from there and I used to think that I'd never get to see Disneyland since I lived in WV. But miracles or miracles happened and WDW opened and I got to go for the first time the summer before I graduated from college. I yearn to go back. I went almost 20 years between trips, 1981 until 2000, when my DS was 11. My mom doesn't understand but it is such a wonderful time and easy to plan and you know you hardly ever have a "bad" experience. I like to travel but WDW is the most "complete" vacation I have ever taken.

2004 - Port Orleans - French Quaters
2006 - (August) Beach Club Resort (Land & Sea)

DH and I love Dinsey too!!! We would go every year if we could but this coming year we are going to Germany for our big trip, so WDW will have to wait till 2007. We went this past November and had the best time ever. Can't wait to be back there again!!!!! :lovestruc

I'm an adult Disney fan and proud of it. I do get questioned a lot about my love of Disney and going to WDW and I just tell them it is because it makes me feel like a big kid.

Also, as I've grown into adulthood I've come to appreciate Walt and his vision for the Walt Disney Company. He took a lot of risks and worked hard to make his dreams become reality, for that I respect him and appreciate all things Disney that much more.

:earsboy:

We went to WDW in 2004 we stayed for one week and I thought I had my Disney fix because as the bus was driving away going back to MCO I felt complete but then the anticipation builds and I am ready for another visit, August 2006. I guess it is the Pixie dust.

DH and I love going to Disney. We try to go to Disney World every other year. That leaves us time to go other places that we also enjoy and to try new things. We love to SCUBA dive so we have to make trips to Grand Cayman every so often!

We live an hour away from Disneyland and have annual passes so I can recharge my Disney battery at least once a month.

I am 32 and I am addicted (hence my username). I love planning Disney trips almost as much as I love the actual vacation. It seems like as soon as we get back from Disney, i start planning a new trip.

Something that I get a major kick out of is going to WDW with someone who has never been or hasn't been in a while. :thumbsup2

I'm 40 and my friends think I'm crazy for for going to disney. After all, we're not kids anymore? Some people just don't get the magic, lucky for us, we don't care! :lovestruc

I'm soon to be 30 and I adore Disney! So do my friends who are also in their late twenties. I enjoy traveling to other places, but only because I know that my friends and I are doing our annual WDW trip!
I have friends who aren't as Disney crazy, but they think it's cool that I have an annual trip planned. After all, other people go on ski trips every year. . . why can't we go to Disney? :wizard:

My DH and I both took our very first trip ever in September 2001 when were 35 (we have no kids) and both of us fell in love with it and became completely addicted! We've managed to get back a couple of times since and this September we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary there 9/21--10/1!

Some people think we're a little crazy in how much love it (and how much we spend on it!) , and maybe we are just a little, but I think that's a good thing. Life is too short not have fun and be kid once in a while. So we'll continue trying to get there as often as we can, which isn't often enough, and in between I'll always be...wdwdreamin!

My DW and I are in our 30's and we do have children but it was her first trip that we went on wothout the kids that showed her the magic and made her a fan for life. We are going to be going back to POP this year in June, which will be my 4th trip to a Disney park in less than 2 years. We were there when Hurricane Ivan came through the Gulf in 2004, went back with DS(11) in June 2005, I was able to do a solo trip to DL in October of 2005, and now we are taking DD(9) on a trip in June of 2006. Even when I am not planning a trip or whatever I am doing, I always have WDW on my brain. Can't get enough of that place.

Don't let what other people say upset you.

I've had co-workers say negative things about other vacations we've done that are non-Disney! :confused3 The been there, done that response.

For example, Niagara Falls. I heard "don't go to the American Falls side it's run down." Despite those comments we went and found we enjoyed the different perspective from that side. Plus we went to Cave of the Winds and saw alot of people enjoying the fact that they were as close to the falls and having a great time. It was fun just to watch the people from different nationalities and age groups smiling because they got drenched. It's all about what you enjoy the most.

Whether it be Disney or other repeat vacations don't be bothered by comments. Maybe they're really sad they're planning on staying home. ;)

I am a Disneyaholic too. My DH thinks I'm insane, but he knows it makes me happy. I wouldn't get that upset about others not understanding why you want to go back year after year.....I went to the Bahama's on my honeymoon and everything about it was perfect, and of course I would love to go back sometime....but if every single vacation I went to the Bahamas, I would fully expect someone to say "Why don't you try another island, since you have already been to the Bahamas?" I just think many people don't understand that there is so much at Disney, that you could go many times and never have a repeat vacation.

Thank you , thank you, thank you, for this thread. I know how you feel. My DH and I are in our mid 30's and child-free. Just last week my friend, who I thought would understand my Disney addiction, gave me the "wouldn't you want to go on a cruise, or to Las Vegas, or......" NO! I mean, I think about going to those places and will venture there someday but right now going to WDW makes me the happiest and my DH knows that. Last summer we went to Mackinaw Island, MI and, although it was nice to see once, I left there thinking I could of spent this money at Disney and been a lot happier.

People that have never been there do not realize the magic that happens. And I feel sorry for those who have been there and don't experience all that Disney has to offer. I am truly like a kid again and I've come to realize there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Just last month when we drove underneath the WDW sign I put my arms up and said "I''m Home!" I'll do it again this December. Can't wait. :cool1:

I am 29 and a complete disney-holic. i am proud of that fact.

DH and I are huge Disney fans as well. Plus, we don't have any kids. We're going to be planning a ten day trip to WDW and a 2 day trip to Universal Studios for Decemeber 2007. We'll be going with our buddy Justin who's never been to WDW. Though, during that long wait DH, Justin, and myself will be going to Disneyland, Universal, etc. for a week during spring this year. There's a lot of planning and money that we need and save for our trip.

Enough to split my time between Washington (where the job is) and Orlando (where the fun is). And I am not even a couple. There is just me, and I may travel when and where I please.

I do go other places as well...I travel to one destination a year that is not Walt Disney World. (although last year I did travel there on a Disney ship).
