Adult Credits for child

Hello all!

We're heading to WDW in September for our first family disney experience and were thrilled to snag the Free DDP! The main reason we are able to go is that hubby has a conference in Orlando the same week. And that creates my question....

My husband's conference is the first part of his stay and includes all his meals so while he is staying with us at Pop Century and will join us in the parks after his conference time he won't be eating there. My oldest daughter will be 10 so her credits are adult but my youngest is 6 and of course hers are child's. With hubby not using his all his credits I've tried to book meals the kids and I will enjoy (including the two credit Cindy's).

As I understand it the credits aren't assigned to one person or another so my oldest and I could use hubby's credits if need be but if I run out of child credits can one or two adult ones be used for her as child meals?

Have I confused everyone yet?

Thanks in advance!

The credits on your package can be used in any order by the members on the package. For example, if you wanted to eat every TS credit on your plan and leave the CS and Snacks for your family, you could (except the kid TS credits). It would either be heaven or lonely for you, but you have that choice. :lmao:

I assume your husband is part of your stay for the duration of your reservation, so he is included on your DDP. If he isn't part of your package then he isn't allowed to use any DDP credits.

Actually, for TS, especially, there could be a problem (since the POS system isn't programmed to allow what you're suggesting here), but I suspect that it is nothing you cannot overcome by a polite request to the CMs. As long as you're not trying it the other way, things should work out fine.

Hi guys,

Yes, my husband is part of our package. We booked the Pop resort for us all, with the basic tickets (one day) for all of us. We'll upgrade the park tickets for myself and the girls from one day to 6 and hubby's from one to 3 when we get there. He's going to commute to his conference from Pop for the first three days of the trip (not far really...just to the Orlando Mariotte) and then tour the parks with us the end of the week.

I actually just booked our last ADR for a TS meal which just nicely uses up my child credits, as three are for breakfasts (one a 2 credit meal). It looks like I won't have the issue with any TS credits (especially since I don't want to spend the whole trip eating!) so it might just mean using an adult one for her for a CS, though if when I ask a CM and they say no I really won't mind paying out of pocket....hard to get irriated about paying for one meal when we're getting so much for free!!

Thanks,
Applemomma

I used an adult CS to buy a child's meal twice this past trip and had no issues. We had four "adults", yet missed a CS one day so I used up two of them to get meals for my 2 y/o.

Have a great time!

Counter service is vastly different from table service. Disney relies on the Guests not to abuse that option. Adult TS credits, on the other hand, must be entered separately in the POS system from Child TS credits.

I never tried to get a kids meal CS, but we asked at a TS restaurant if we could use an extra adult credit we had to purchase a kids meal for our 2yo. Our waitress explained that the way they have to key in the DDP orders would not allow them to substitute; however, there was absolutely no problem using it on a regular entree, even though he was not on our dining plan.
