Dh's birthday is the day after we arrive. I'm not sure where to go to eat. I had planned to spend the whole day at MK, but it's an EMH day and everyone says to leave the park that has EMH after you've taken advantage of it (we will be staying at CR). I really don't know where to go. He's a meat and potatoes kinda guy. I showed him the menu's for the nice restaurants in the Grand Floridian and CR and he said no way! Also, our kids will be with us, they are 4 and 8. My only idea was Tony's at MK with maybe catching Spectro, of course I don't even know if it'll running that night. What would be a good place, any ideas? Thanks!

My DH is a meat and potatoes type guy too. His favorite restaurant in Garden Grill at Epcot. He just loves the food, theming, characters.

Maybe try Liberty Tree Tavern. They serve a great all you can eat dinner - roast beef, pork, turkey, mashed potatoes, an awesome salad, and Boston Cream Pie for dessert.

DH also LOVES Boma at AKL. There's prime rib, chicken, and such, but also foods with a little Afritude.

Check the menus and see what you think. I know those choices please everyone in our family.

We(DH, myself, DSs then 3.5 & 7) will be in WDW for my birthday this year. Its 10 months off, but Ive already picked the Kona Cafe. Im pretty much a basic eater, and I love the Kona. Plus, I wouldnt want to do a nice sit down dinner in MK since you cant have a drink. My plan is to watch the fireworks from the beach after dinner to avoid the crowds of exiting the MK afterwards.

I think Ohanna's at the Polly would be a good choice for you. It's an all you can eat roasted meat kind of meal. It is a short monorail ride from the MK and you can catch the fireworks from there if you time it right. One word of caution is that if you do EE, your kids will be very tired by dinner time. An ealy dinner or a long afternoon nap will keep everyone happier at this specail dinner.

I've heard great reviews about Yachtsman at the Yacht Club (great steaks!) and Shula's at the Dolphin (I think). Kind of expensive, though.

'Ohana is great and all you can eat. Some men have posted that you get lots of meat. And there's kids activities so it's a good family type restaurant.

We went to Ohana on my dh's birthday with the kids. Everyone enjoyed it. LOTS of meat but unfortunately no potatoes, rice instead :-(

You can get some real good Prime Rib and mashed potatoes at Cinderela's for your DH.

And what kid won't like eating in the castle. They do have a limited menu, nut I never experienced bad anthing there.

My DH is also a meat and potatoes guy, and so our family ate at Le Cellier in Epcot a couple of years ago. He loved it, and we're going back again this year! Le Cellier serves steak (and other meats as well, but we all had steak), and I know that several of their dishes come with mashed potatoes. I can't remember whether they also have baked potatoes. They also have a kids menu and great desserts.

But we also love 'Ohana, so that's a good choice, too.
