Adult Beach Castaway Cay

I am wondering how strict they are at the adult beach
at castasway cay? we have a son 19 and a daughter who
will be 1 month shy of 18 (she's 17 ) will we be able to get
on that beach? or will they check her exact age?

There was not anyone checking ID's to allow you onto the tram/beach. I don't think your going to have a problem unless your kids start screaming about wanting to go back & dig for dinosaur bones with the other kids ;-)

No ID check on the tram. The sign at the beach says for guests 18 and older but I don't see that one month makes a difference so it shouldn't be a problem.

On our cruise, there was a family with small children (like 3 and 6) that totally ignored the signs and went out on the adult beach. A CM went out and escorted them back to the tram so they could move to the family beach. I think they only make a big deal when it's an OBVIOUS violation.

She might also find that she will meet some other teens and want to hang out on the teen beach.

I would take my 17 year old daughter on the adult beach if she wanted to go. As long as they are mature in their actions then it won't be a problem at that age.

I don't think that anyone would question them if they are not causing a disturbance or calling any attention to themselves. While I am a stickler for rules (and a big fan of the adults-only areas), there have been times in the adult hot tub when I've seen teens who I'd be willing to bet are around 16 or 17. You can tell they are trying to act "adult" and behaving well, so that doesn't bother me.
Of course, there was the "idiot couple" who brought their two year old to the adult beach once and left her on a chair while they went way out into the water. The poor little girl just sat on the chair and screamed! We alerted a CM, as did another guest. The CM had to wade way out to get their attention. Their poor child could have wandered into the water and drowned without their realizing it. They copped a major attitude when forced to leave.
