Would you be happy so see ads on your kids school bus? Of course there would be NO ads for alcohol or tobacco

Or hopefully no advertisements for anything of a "adult" nature.

Besides that, no I would honestly care less. wouldn't the money be going to the school system since the school system's buses are the mobile ads?

Also, as long as it didn't cover the bus number, etc.

No issues at all. It could be a great moneymaker for the school/PTA.

We already have ads on our school buses. Our district is also selling ads on its website: http://www.fisdk12.net/ (scroll to the bottom). Texas cut a TON of $$ from schools this past year, and there will be more cuts for the coming year. We still have RN's at every school as school nurses, GT, music, and art classes, which a lot of districts around here have cut. I think our district is being smart by selling ad space where they can! --Katie

At least you still have a school bus system! Ours are gone due to budget cuts, and the schools are not within walking distance. I say....do it or lose it!

i think as long as the ads are kid friendly and not sexy or violent in nature. when i was in high school our town got a contract with coca-cola. the only beverages besides those milk & oj cartons sold on school property were coca-cola. except we were not allowed to have soda b/c it was bad..... in place we got tons of sugary drinks. i think programs like that are much more of a problem than some ads on a bus. public transit has ads on every inch of space available so why not public schools?

With alll the government cuts, schools have to get money some how. I wish our school district would do this.

As long as they are apporpriate for school age kids I don't see why not. School districts are hurting for money and if advertising allows them to keep teachers in their positions or hire more I'm all for it.

In our school district, the busses are contracted to an outside company. As long as the contract price was cut in exchange for allowing age appropriate advertising (including something stating it couldn't just go up more than a certain percent each year once the ads are there), I suppose I'm fine with it. It had better help cut the cost of the school's contract with the bus company or no way.
