ADRs

So we're going to The World in August and I have all our ADRs made. I keep hearing about how crowded it will be. It is also during a time when free dining was offered.

Well yesterday I was looking around on the dining web site and there was a lot of open ADRs for popular places...like I could have gotten a 6:55 dinner in the castle and was able to change a lunch form Sci-Fi to 50s Prime Time. I also just snooped and found availability at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace for breakfast.

Now I have tried to book some of those for less crowded times of the year the last few times we have gone and not been able to...namely Chef Mickey's and the castle...even when booking at 180 days.

So does this imply good things for us?

I wonder if there were a lot of openings because of people cancelling just before the 45 day mark?

It is hard to tell but as PP said, could be because it is close to the 45day mark.

I am going at the end of September and have heard the same things about crowded restaurants and difficult to get ADRs due to free dining, but I got everything I wanted at my 180 day mark and just recently I changed about half of them and was able to get what I wanted mostly. So maybe it means good things or maybe they've opened more availability even.

I had not thought of that...but either way, sounds hopeful! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

We were there for FD at the end of August in 2009, going again this year, end of August for FD It was crowded, but not summer crowded. Lots of schools are back in session by then and I think that helped lessen the crowd levels. Hopefully for us, the crowds will stay away!!! Have a great trip!
