My ADR window is coming up soon but we still don't know the exact number of our party.

If I reserve a table for 7 and we ended up 6, how easy to change the reservations of hard to get restaurants, like Cinderella's or Chef Mickey? Or like Fantasmic Dinner Package? We want to make sure we can keep the ADRs, but we also don't want to pay for the extra person who don't show up.

This happened to me last year - tried to adjust from 8 to 7. For the prepaid things like CRT they required I cancell the resssie for 8 and find a new one for 7. Of course - there were no table for 7 available so I was stuck keeping the 8 and paying for the party that didn't show.

For those hard to get ressies, book for the number of people you definitely know are coming. If the undecided decide to come later on, then tell them that some of you will be going to that ressie, and they'll need to find somewhere else to eat. It may sound a little harsh, but those ressies are hard to come by, and you don't want to be stuck paying for them, if they don't come.
CRT requires full payment in advance. I think if you explain that to them, they shouldn't be too upset about not getting to come.

I agree with PP. Why is the party undecided? I guess that would depend on how I handled it as well. If they are being wishywashy then so bad so sad. Do they understand how hard it is to get what you want?

Good luck, I wouldn't want to be in that boat.

Personally I have my best friend and her family coming to a dinner at a resort to meet us. I told her way in advance, I need to know who is coming and once it is made that is it, there is no changing it. She understood.

thanks all. The other family that is joining us has a son who is in a college and the schedule conflicts w/ his finals. They didn't know if finals can be taken earlier so he could join us.

I checked the other family again, and now we know he is not coming. Bummer but it makes it a bit easier to plan now.

This happened to us twice on our trip in April. My dear brother decided not to come to Boma's breakfast and dinner at CRT. :mad:We were on the dining plan and there was no problem when we showed up at the hostess desk.

At CRT they didn't even charge us for the missed TS, which would have not mattered anyway since he ended up not using 3 of his TS.

The worst part is he wanted to eat at Yak & Yeti during the trip and my mom paid out of pocket for that meal. Had I known he could have used some of their TS credits. :confused3

I just had to keep telling myself it was his money he was wasting!!!
