ADRs to eat at Counter Service?

Do I really need ADRs just to eat at a counter service? Sci-Fi, Flame Tree BBQ, Columbia House, etc? Why do they even take ADRs? How long of a wait if no ADR? We arrive at WDW Nov. 25, Sun.

No ADR's for counter service. Sci Fi is table service.

As PP stated, you do not need ADRs for Counter Service restaurants but you can't make them either.

You will however need ADRs for any table service meals you want to have while in Disney.
