I'm currently planning our first trip to WDW, and am looking into ADR's. I noticed somewhere that it said payment may be due at time of making the reservation. Is this for all ADRs or just Character meals?
The only character meal we will try for is 1900 Park Fare - we have 4 teens and I doubt the boys would take kindly to Goofy patting them on the head during dinner, lol(Though I would LOVE to see that!!!):rotfl2: The girls, however, want to see Cinderella (and so do I!)
So which ADR's will require payment?
Thanks!

Only certain meals require advance payment or a credit card # (if you are on the dining plan (i.e., CRT, HDDR, Fantasmic packages, etc...). 1900 PF is NOT one of these.:)

There are only a few meals that require pre payment, 1900 Park Fare isn't one of them. Some are CRT at the Castle and any Fantasmic package. If you are on the Dining Plan none require prepayment, but a credit card might be required to hold your spot and you will be charged if you are no show or cancel too late.

Your teen boys might find Cindy to be cute, so while they won't admit it they'll enjoy it. At the Norway Princess meal in Epcot Jasmine is apparently very popular for photos with the guys. Hmmm, I wonder why?

Askerhus requires a CC number when making the ressie. If you cancel less than 48 hours before, they charge your CC $10 per person. Same for Fantasmic package (septbaby, they didn't charge me for FDP, just took the CC#).
CRT requires prepayment unless on DDP as PP stated.

You don't need a CC for most meals. Even character meals don't need a CC hold except for CRT and Akershus.

Dinner shows and the California Grill also required a Credit card hold, but they won't charge the card unless we are no shows.

I also booked the Wonderland tea party for DD and they needed the Card number for that too. That will be charged the day before the tea party as the payment.

Thanks for the info, everyone! Just trying to work out our budget and a timeline. Planning this trip could be a full time job, but a fun one!

question about CRT prepay vs dining plan. I will be on the dining plan but plan to pay for this OOP more than likely.. what are my options? Can I just pay when I try to get my reservation? or do I tell them yes I'm on the dinning plan then just pay OOP when I get there?

HelenePA, I think you still must put a Credit card hold and then they will charge the credit card when you get your bill when you are there. I'm not 100% sure though.

You can still mention that you are on the DP though, just make it clear that you will pay OOP.

We are doing that, too. I just let them charge my card for the whole amount when I made the ressie.

:offtopic: My grandparents used to live in the Poconos!
