I just wanted to share my ADR experience. Backstory: my sister got a divorce this year (his choice not hers) and he was super frugal so my sister wasn't allowed to take their daughter to Disney in the last couple years. My sister decided now that this is the year! So it's our mom, my sister, my niece, and I heading March 25-April 1. I'm the family vacation planner so I think that's why I got invited...hehe!
Anyway, Monday, January 24 was the day to get our ADRs - looking to get Storybook Garden the only dinner, then lunches at Coral Reef, Garden Grill, SciFi Diner, and Rainforest at AK. I set my alarm for 5:40 central time and figure it was good to go. Unfortunately, it was for 5:40 PM. So I wake up at 6:46 AM look at the clock and FREAK OUT. I grab my robe and flip on the computer. As the computer comes up, I'm crying thinking I screwed up and my niece won't get any of her choices. She is my only niece and I really want this trip to be special for her as this year has been rough with her living between two places now.
Unbelievably I got ALL of the restaurants for the days I wanted but 3 of them much later than I hoped for. As I typed my sister an email to tell her what happened, I wondered if I found better times if I have to cancel and rebook the restaurants or can I just change the time. So I went back on the Disney site, found the first restaurant I wanted a new time for, clicked on Change Reservation and found multiple new times available that weren't there before. I was able to move all three restaurants to better times!
Shoutout to everyone whose posts I read to help me with my planning!
