We are trying to decide whether or not to get concierge on our rooms. The only reason we would use it would be for the booking of advance reservations. Can any tell me seriously how hard it is to get all of the reservations that your are hoping for as far as the cruises go and character meals? :confused3 We are going on a once and a lifetime trip since it is my parents retirement trip so I wanna make sure that I am able to get all the reservations that we wanted.

It looks like you're going in December of this year.

If you haven't already booked your ADR's you need to do it now. You'll only know how hard it is once you call and try for what you want.

If you can't get your ADR's add concierge and see if they have any luck. If they don't you can probably cancel that yet since you are more than 45 days out.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

I have never had a problem getting what I want at Disney for ADRs

I misunderstood your post because of the "once in a lifetime" and thought that your upcoming cruise was a land sea and that was it.

If it's December next year, I'd probably just call myself BUT I'd wait until after the new online system is launched for ADR's to make my final decision.

When is this suppose to be launched?

As far as I know, the concierge offices for club level guests do not have special access to any better ADRs than you can get yourself. So don't book concierge just because you think you will have better luck getting ADRs -- that's not really true (although sometimes I have questioned whether they have some reservations put aside for concierge guests -- they had no trouble booking my fireworks cruise, but it was also on the first day you could book those -- anyway...).

Having them book your reservations for you is simply a service included in the price of club level, not really a way to have greater access than an average guest.

We have never had problems getting ADR's. We went in May and called at about 90 days out rather than 180 and had no problem. For our upcoming trip in January, I called precisely at the 180 date from our check in: I got the Chef's table at Victoria and Albert's, Le Cellier, Jiko, San Angel Inn, 9 Dragons, Kona Grill, Narcoosee's, Biergarten, Chefs de France, Tutto Italia, Tokyo Dining, Rose and Crown, and Wolfgang Puck dining room. I got all the times and days that we wanted.

I don't think booking concierge gives you any edge EXCEPT for the Chef's table. I have heard rumors that concierge guests get "pencilled in" prior to 180 days but I don't know if that is true.

Bottom line, I would not book concierge for the sole purpose of getting ADR's.

We've never had any problems. We usually book 180 days out but always end up changing a couple of the them in the weeks just before our trip.

WHen we stayed CL at the YC in January all they did was call the Disney Dining line and tell us "no availability", even at YC galley which, when we walked by ten minutes later, had maybe 5 tables seated but were turning people away! e wound up eating in the Concierge Lounge that evening instead of at our table at Cape May which we were delayed getting to (but that's another story, lol)

personally, i think you get just as good a chance of getting the adrs you want if you use a disney specialist travel agent... one who will get up at the crack of dawn on your 180+10th date to call and get what you want... i'm not convinced that concierges have any better access than they do... and they don't cost any add'l as they are paid by disney w/no increase to your bottom line :)

if you'd like add'l info re: using a ta ask or pm me :)
