We are new DVC members and have a stay upcoming for December 17-24 at Riviera in a 2 BR. Once our reservations was confirmed, it wasn't difficult to fill the beds with family members who have never been to Disney before. I know that there a couple of reservations I would love to be able to secure for our trip:

  1. CRT - Dinner preferably
  2. BOG - Same day as CRT but for breakfast or lunch
  3. Topolino's - Likely for my birthday dinner on the 20th since we are resting that day and not doing park
There are others we'd like such as Sci-Fi if possible but we wont cry if we don't get them. My question is, do the above accept reservations for this party size? Assuming we are up at 6 am, is there any chance we will be able to get one or more of these? Is it faster to do it on your phone or call guest services to make ADR's?

Your best bet is to get online at 6AM 60 days out from your check-in date. With a very quick calc, that's probably 10/18. You should not have any issue making a reservation for 7 people. You should lay out the desired dates/times you want. Being Christmas week, it's probably going to be packed. If you wait to call guest services or DVC Member Services, you're going to miss out on 2-3 hours of other people making online reservations - and things can go quickly! They only open their phones at 8 or 9AM.

You'll have one advantage - you can make all your reservations 60 days out, for your entire stay. You'll have much better chances of getting some of the reservations later in the stay (63, 65, 67 days out) because less people get actually make reservations for those days. If some of the restaurants you've listed above are reservations you want early in your trip. I'd recommend 2 things - go after the earliest, most important reservations first. But also have a backup plan if you cannot get them early in your trip. That backup plan might be an alternate restaurant, and/or doing the desired restaurant later in the trip (if you can).

I'm not sure how much this little bit of info might help. But lay out what you want in the way of ADRs, prioritize them, and be ready to jump online to make the reservations. If you're not as familiar with the dining reservation system, go out soon and just work through the process for restaurants on pretend dates - just don't actually make the reservation! It'll make you more comfortable when you do it for real. Good luck - have a great time!

I agree with the above - make a plan re which restaurants, ideal choices of dates/times for each, and prioritize which to try to book first. Then be online at 6:00 AM Eastern, 60 days before checkin. Personally, I'd book Topolino's first - it seems to be a little harder to get than the other two, and it's your birthday, so more restricted to a certain date! :tink::tink::tink::tink:Hope it all goes smoothly.

Great information here, thank you very much!

Our plan to would be to do Topilino on the 20th. BOG and CRT on the 23rd when we are in MK for the day. I'll try to plan out the other days and get alternatives for each as well. Thanks again!

Just went through this for Sept res for 7. It is not easy and not many will do party of 7
We did a lot of 6 and called the restaurant to add 1 or party of 5 and party of 2 and called to ask if we could sit nearby
All restaurants were accommodating and helpful
One extra step but opened up the available times greatly
