ADRs during spring break

I just had a friend call Disney to book for her family for spring break (mar 10 to 14). I had told them that they should make ADR's right away, and when she mentioned that to the CM when they were booking, he told her it wasn't necessary, they'd be fine. They are on the dining plan. Isn't spring break a busy time? What would you say to her?

Even the Disney website suggests ADR's. They may be fine, if they're flexible where and when they're going to eat.

Last year I went Easter week and just about every park had a sign that all Table Service locations were full, please try one of our wonderful Counter Service locations.

Since they're on the dining plan, I think they are going to be frustrated if they have to pay out of pocket for a counter-service restaurant because they can't get in to a table service venue. They have fairly young children too so I don't think they can realistically be eating dinner at 9:00 p.m.

I was just surprised that the CM would say this! Now I she thinks I don't know what I'm talking about when I suggest making ADRs six weeks in advance.

Tell your friend that a few thousand of your closest friends ......suggest that she make a few ressies just to be on the safe side.....I have been and only were able to go to one restaurant........yup suggest to her

Yes make reservations. It isn't spring break for most americans but we were just there the last 4 days and couldn't get a reservation for the places we wanted......book now. In fact in the fall when I was booking Le cellier for the same march break I couldn't get a table for all of us for dinner.....so good luck. That 's terrible advice.
