We're planning on a trip mid-May, but haven't actually booked it yet as we're waiting on the Disney Visa.

Can I make any ADR's BEFORE I make a room or package reservation?

I have. Made about 5 days worth with no problem. I believe they asked regarding my resort and I just replied that I had yet to make that reservation. Can't really remember the whole circumstance and don't recall why I had not yet booked the room... might have been holding out regarding some developing family medical issues with elderly relatives, but wanted to get the ADR's in case the trip was a GO, which it turned out to be. Would have canceled the ADR's of course had things not worked out.

I was actually just thinking about doing this exact thing at about the time I read your post. Looking at early April and probably ought to call for Le Celliere now.

You can definitely make ADRs without a room or package reservation. Local FL residents do this all the time, as do people who are staying off-property.

I made my ADRs AND my plane reservations before I knew where I was staying. We were in the middle of buying a DVC resale and I had no flexibility as to the dates I had to be in Orlando. I didn't want to miss out on any of our favorite places to dine. It was kind of weird when they asked where I was staying...I just told them I hoped it was BWV!

Great! Thanks!!! It never occured to me that it would be no different from someone staying off property. Duh!!

I was just coming on here to ask this question!

We'll be split staying at the Dolphin and WL in May 2008. I want to make some ressies when my 180 window opens. Can I do that for the Dolphin?

I was led to believe the 180 window only applied to resorts eligible for DDP.

I hope I'm wrong...

You may make reservations for almost all WDW restaurants 180 days from the dining date.

If you have a confirmed reservation at a Disney Owned and Operated Resort you may, 180 days from your date of arrival, make reservations for your entire stay (but not more than ten days worth). This is sometimes referred to as the 180 + 10.

If you don't have your confirmed Disney reservation you would have to call 180 days in advance of each day, or wait until the last day of your trip is 180 days out and then you could make all your reservations, because the other days are less than 180.

Ok. So, I think I'll make sure we confirm our ressie soon since there is no way I'm calling 7 days in a row. :headache:

I actually booked our trip based on what we could get for ADR's; we were very flexible about when we could go but had some "must do's" for dining, so I booked our ADR's first, then our trip!
