Hello my new favorite friends! Planning for our first trip...in October. I have ADR's picked, but after all I've read I'm really not interested in any CS at HS so I'm trying to decide between Sci-Fi and 50's PT. We are going with the deluxe. We eat 3 meals daily and the kids eat even more. In general, we are doing CS at lunch (to tide us over) except at AK cause I've always wanted to do Rainforest. Give me your opinions please...we've never been to the world so were going in blind (except for what I've read in the 7 books and all the posts here:love: )

By the by, we're staying at the Poly and each breakfast except Fri. and Sat. is the park we're going to that day, and hop to some later. Also, we left Friday open as a family choice day...for whatever we felt like we missed. Oh, and my family are BIG breakfast eaters, not I, it'll be a waste on me. Also, another little bit of info, my dh is the only one of us who eats seafood...the rest of us don't even like to look at it.

We are doing SciFi ourselves. I know alot of people have said that the food isn't great, but we are really going for the atmosphere. I mean what is not fun about sitting in a car, chowing down in front of a big screen. popcorn::

I love the 50's Prime Time Cafe. I've never eaten at Sci-Fi (although I've had to walk through there a time or two and the atmosphere is pretty cool). But if you get a great server at 50's you can have a lot of fun.

The last time I was there I was looking around the 'kitchen' and seeing so many things that my grandmother (who's sadly passed away now) had in her own kitchen.

I cancelled my 50s ARD for a SciFi one instead just yesterday. I'd love to try Prime Time, but I'd only be going for atmosphere (waiter interaction).

It seems it's trully a gamble to get a good waiter, but at SciFi (a place I've been to and loved) I know what I'm in for :)

Oh, and good luck on the CRT! This is the first time we're not doing it, but Jason at Dreams Unlimited snagged us a spot this morning for the Norway Princess dinner in April.

The food is much better at 50's PT but the atmosphere at SciFi is so unique. We eat at SciFi every trip just to sit in the little cars. I must give this warning though, we just got back and the turkey sandwich I had at SciFi was the worst food I've ever eaten. The burgers are good and I usually have one but decided to go lower fat and paid the price. Just make sure if you go, stick with burgers, fries, shakes.

At 50's, I think all of the dishes I've had are very good. The meals here are huge so it's a good choice for big eaters. In all the times we have eaten here, including this most recent trip, we've never had a fun waiter. And for that I'm grateful.

We did both on our trip a few weeks ago and I preferred the Sci Fi. I think the kids would enjoy it much more. We had the burger at the Sci Fi and it was very good.

I would go for Sci-Fi since you have a breakfast and dinner scheduled for that day. You could go just for the burgers (great) and the atmosphere.

I know you didn't ask but I would chose a different restaurants (instead of Capt. Jack's) for the night it is just you and DH. Maybe one of the EPCOT WS restaurants - Coral Reef, Tutto Italia or if you want to use 2 ts credits Narcooses's or California Grille.

Thanks for the info, Sci-fi sounds good. How does everything else look...I haven't really had my hopes up about Cap 'n Jacks, but DH wants good seafood and I'd just eat steak, any suggestions???

Coral Reef - Alaskan King Crab Legs, Mahi Mahi, Lobster Bisque, Catfish etc.

Best of all - really good desserts!

Thanks for the info on coral reef, do they have steak??? Also, that night we're putting dd at kid's club but ds is to old, we were going to let him play at dis quest while we ate and strolled pleasure island...would it be too much travel to go from poly to epcot to dtd? Dh and I tend to be in bed early, I doubt we'd stay out later than 11.

They have wonderful steak. I don't think it would be too much at all to put dd in the Neverland Club and take the EPCOT monorail over to the Coral Reef.

I have to tell you though your kids might really like Coral Reef. The giant aquarium is a big draw. I know my kids just love it there.
