Okay, how do I properly phrase this question:

We have ADR's for our trip - some DDP participating eateries, some not.
If we decide to purchase DDP (last minute via DVC), do we have to have ADR's to be able to use the plan? Can we walk-up, wait, and get seated, at a DDP restaurant, without ADR's, and still use the DDP? Strange question, maybe silly, but I have not been able to find the answer anywhere else.

Thanks for any info.

Technically, you don't need ADR's to use your TS credits. I would highly recommend you have them since the DDP is so popular that the TS restaurants are booked up for the most part.

All of the TS restaurants we dined at in August were turning away walk ups, with the exception of Sci-Fi lunch (it was 11 am the day the Tropical Storm hit - not a very busy park day ;) ). We had decided last minute to stay at MGM instead of going back for naps.

The DDP is just another way of paying for your meal, instead of cash or credit. It doesn't matter how you snagged a seat at the restaurant. You're welcome to make a reservation or just show up and try to get in.

The only issue would be if you pre-paid for a meal such as CRT or a dinner show. The restaurant can refund your credit card and charge debit your meal plan account.
