ADRs 190 Days?

We are off to the World next May and booked direct with Disney and got the free dining plan. When I booked I am sure that I read that Disney resort guests got an extra 10 days on the 180 day booking window which I thought may be useful, but now I think I may have dreamt it! :confused3

I was reading on the Disney Dining forum trying to research this people referring to 180+10 which is where at 180 days you can book up for up to 10 days (we're going for 14 days so not sure how that works), so now I'm wondering if that's where I am becoming confused. But when I look in the UK brochure and on the WDW Travel website it says (and I quote!) "You can now reserve a table online for any Walt Disney World restaurant, up to 180 days before you arrive." Does this mean at 180 days I should be able to book all my reservations? It also suggests this can be done online, anyone had any experience of this?

We have been to the World a few times before and made reservations but this is only the second time we have stayed onsite and last time we booked the trip a month before we went so this wasn't an issue. If anybody can set me straight I would really appreciate it as we are now at the 192 day mark!

Hi

I made my ADRs online as you can do them an hour earlier than you can on the phone, increasing your chances of getting what you want, when you want, but over the phone is fine if you prefer to speak to someone.

You need to get your US reservation number for your booking (Disney hotel/ticket package). You need this so that you can 'associate' your Disney resort stay with your dining reservations to allow you to use the extra 10 days. YOu can get this by phoning Disney UK, who are open until 4 pm today.

In 2 days time you will be able to make your reservations for meals for the first 10 days of your stay. Then you wait until the next day and you can make for the 11th Day, the next day for the 12th day...... etc.

You need to associate your hotel stay with the US reservation number to yoru stay online if you want to do online ADRs. Let me know if you plan to do them online as opposed to over the phone. They website had an upgrade since I made mine earlier this year so I need to check that it hasn't changed.

I was playing with the site yesterday and it was saying that anything beyond 180 days could only be done over the phone at the moment. :goodvibes

Thanks for posting that. I wonder if that has anything to do with the reservations systems being down periodically in the last week or two. I knew I would need to check before telling the OP.

THanks. :)

Thanks 2Tiggies and wickesy, I appreciate your help. I have called Disney and got my US reservation number (I think I did that last time to use the online check in). So, putting together what you both have said, I can make my reservations for the first 10 days at the 190 day mark but I will have to call as opposed to doing it online? It's a shame as I prefer to make them online (found it far quicker last year when I was booking a month out) plus I like the idea of the extra hour! Anyway, thanks again.

Hi, sorry to butt in but can I ask a quick question...
I'm booked with VH to stay at AKL, how do I get my US reservation number? Through Disney or VH?
Thanks :surfweb:

Hi, I called Disney UK but I booked with them so just gave them my UK reservation number and she gave me the US one straight away. Maybe VH can do the same?

You can only book 180 days from check in at that point you can book for that day plus the next 10 days. To book the remaining days just do it day day or wait 4 days and do it all at once.

Earlier in the year there was a glitch in the booking system online that was allowing bookings at 190 days but with all the recent system upgrades I would guess that has been closed.

Thanks for the additional info, this does fit in with what I was reading over on the dining forums, I was kind of hoping it may be different for UK bookings. The funny thing is when I was retrieving my US reservation number I checked with her that I could reserve at 190 days out and she agreed! :confused3 I thought it was all too good to be true!

Yes, this happens a lot. Just because someone is employed by Disney doesn't necessarily mean you get the facts. We just got back and a CM outside Test Track was saying that it's the most popular attraction in the whole of Disneyland. We were at WDW in Florida by the way :lmao:

:rotfl2: That is worrying! Still it was nice to hear her say that they were looking forward to welcoming us back again next year even if she was feeding me bogus information whilst doing it!
