ADR with two tables: odds of being given table close to each other?

I'm having a hard time finding ADR's for one table party of 5. A CM suggested looking at two tables (party of 2 and 3) which opened up earlier dining times for us. As in, WAY better times for our family of young children!

The CMs cannot promise you'll be seated next to each other or even near each other, but realistically, wouldn't a hostess try to seat a family with small children together if it's at all possible to do so?

Does anyone have any experience with showing up with an ADR for two tables and getting seated together, or split up? Was it 50/50 or worse for getting to sit next to each other?

The restaurants we're considering for this are BOMA, Kona, and Chef Mickeys.

Thanks!

We've traveled with a large party before, and my experience is that the host/hostess will do all they can to work things for you. At 50'sPT once, we had reservations for two seperate tables, but they were able to seat us all together.

This happen to us at BOMA...we had no trouble they sat us together...the just moved the tables together...we had to wait a couple extra minutes. I don't think you will have any problems being seated together....the family in front of us a CRT had a table of 3 and a table of 2 booked...the CM had no trouble seating them together and they actually had 6 people instead of the 2 & 3 they booked.

Have a great trip...you can always keep trying for a bigger table...but I would make the ADR's for 3 & 2.

Woo hoooo! That's what I'm talkin' about!

People being generally good-natured, I had to think a hostess would do everything they could to accomodate a family with small children to be next to each other - - glad to hear others have either had this happen to them or witnessed it happening to others in front of them.

Thanks!

Any good host will try and get you as close together as possible. I wouldn't worry about it. :goodvibes

"Knock on Wood" everytime we have been told 2 tables it has been one large table or two right next to each other , we could eat off one anothers plate.

I'm in the same boat as you--I had to book a few meals at separate tables for my family of five. I also got pretty good responses about it here, so I'm somewhat more optimistic now.

Plus I might just like having the kids at one table and us at another table on the other side of the restaurant. ;) :lmao:

I had that very same problem with LeCellier for August of this year. I too am hoping that they will be able to accomidate us. It was the only way we could get in so of course I took it.
So here's to hoping our party of 5 will be able to sit together.

Last year, we had a party of 9 - we where always seated together even though we were booked for 2 separate tables. All venues will work to accommodate:thumbsup2

Did you happen to eat at WP as when we booked they said they seated large partys outside. When we eat there as a small party we saw plenty of large partys inside. This year there are 10 of us so if they seated you inside this would be reasurance for us

I went on 2 family reunion trips in 06. We all had the dining plan so we did sit down meals every day. Every reservation they gave us they said it was 2 and sometimes 3 tables and they could not guarantee we could all sit together. They sat us together at every single meal-it was great.:thumbsup2

Our reservation at Boma is at two tables, 3 and 2 she said she would put a note on their we want to be by each other. I hope so, I mean My older two could sit by themselves but I would rather us all be together.

Last Aug. when I made my ADR's I was told I would need two tables for Hollywood and Vine and one other one but I forgot which one. Anyway, we are a party of 7 and we were seated together without even asking. This Aug. I have ADR's at Sci-fi and there they said we would need two tables, we also have ADR's at Boma but the CM didn't say anything about needing two tables.

Glad to hear that the cm's still put u together i just booked lecellier for one table of 3 and one for 2 with my fingers crossed we would get an accomidating cm. looks like moct people have had that happen for them.

This happened to us at CM. I asked the hostess if they could do their best to put them together, and she said they were automatically seating us together--no problem at all. Don't worry about it.

We went in Feb. and there were 7 of us. We booked 2 seperate tables for a few meals and alway sat together. Actually, we never had 2 seperate tables, we always sat at a large table, all together.

I'm sure that sometimes it doesn't always work that way, but I think they will try to get everybody together if at all possible.

The only place where we had an issue was Le Cellier. It was even a slow time in January. But anyway they were able to sit us togther we just had to wait an extra 30 minutes past our ADR time, so as long as you are willing to wait extra they will work it out.
