We are going to the world for free dining 8/24 - 8/31 and are trying to get our plans together for ADR's. It will be my DW, DD14, and DD6 all going. Our anniversary falls during our stay (8/26) and we're trying to figure out where to go, what park we should go to, etc. I thought about one of the resort restaurants instead of in the parks..

Anyone have any suggestions of someplace that would be nice, but not bore the kids..

Thanks all

Oh and BTW. I won't be able to do too much of a surprise as my DW is doing the ressies.. Although that won't stop me from trying to do something to surprise her. :rolleyes1 :yay:

We wil be there that week too. Our anniversary is on the 24th. :goodvibes
We have DD5, DS7, DS13. We decided to eat at Kona for dinner that night. We are doing MK for the day and an early lunch at the Crystal Palace. We love CP and we have never eaten at Kona, but I heard the food is great. On the 27th(my 40th birthday) we are eating at WCC. We have never eaten there either, but I have heard so many nice things about it and it sounds like great fun! So do you want quiet and great food(Kona) or loud and fun (WCC)? Either way, have a great trip and Happy Anniversary!!!:cheer2:

Oops- I actually noticed your dates are for August.... we will actually be there in September. LOL Next time I need to pay closer attention.

Our anniversary falls on the 1st for our trip, so we're going to try Captain's Grille at Beach Club. It's a 1 TS credit (important to me), at a resort we have never visited, menu seems nice, and I can bring my 3 little monsters and not feel that it is "too" nice. Also since Epcot is DH and my favorite theme park we figure we would spend the day there and walk over or boat over to the Beach Club for dinner.

Personally I love the Coral Reef in Epcot. The food is good as is the atmosphere. Kids should love it. Plus for your anniversary you can get personalized menus with pictures you send to them via e-mail. Also a diver in the aquarium will hold up a sign saying Happy Anniversary. We're doing this for my DD's 18 birthday and my b-day too. Should be lot's of fun...you should think about trying it.:cool1:

We celebrated our anniversary last July at 2 restaraunts. I had a diver scheduled at Coral Reef for my DD's b-day, and my hubby secretly added to that plan a "Happy Anniverary" sign without my knowing anything about it. It was a complete surprise.

However, I really liked the dinner we had on our anniversary at Spoodles. I'd ordered an anniversary cake from the Boardwalk Bakery to be delivered after dinner. It was $40 and was THE BEST CAKE WE'VE EVER HAD!!!!!!! I asked for a white cake with strawberries/custard filling, with buttercream icing. I chose a Lady & The Tramp decoration for the top. They announced our anniversary to the other people dining that evening and we got lots of "awwww, how sweet/congrats" comments.

To top it off, I scheduled it just before the Boardwalk entertainers were to appear that night, so after dinner, Spoodles held the rest of our cake until we were done watching entertainers, etc. Very romantic time around dusk and I will always remember that evening. My DS has now asked for Spoodles for this trip in June because he loved the food and wants more cake to "celebrate mom's b-day"! :rotfl:

I would suggest California Grill in the Contemporary resort. It is only a short walk or monerail ride from the MK.

We tried to get the Coral Reef (no ressies available) :sad1: , then tried Le Cellier (again no luck) :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: , sooooooo we have decided on the Kona at the Polynesian (and Yeah they were available).. Anyone have any feedback on it?

We'll hang out at the parks for a while, then take the monorail over and have dinner.. do a little visiting of the resort.. never been to teh Polynesian before.

Thanks all for your input though.

Kona is great we really like it. Had you thought about Artist Point at WL or The Hollywood Brown Derby. My kids have not eaten at AP but they love THBD. There are just a little more special to me. Quieter & more laid back.
