We made ADR at the California Grill for an evening in December - to see the fireworks of course.

However, I guess we were a bit lite and reservation time now is 9:10pm and fireworks starts at 9. :headache:

Do you think we should try:

1) change the time

2) come earlier and hope to get seated before the fireworks starts

3)or just arrive in time and ask if we may watch the fireworks from the platform anyway, even if the table is not ready.

Maybe some of you knows some advice or share experiences with us. :dance3:

We arrived a bit early for our ADR and were escorted up to the bar/table area. We found seats one row back from the window with a perfect view of the castle. Our bar server told us we could wait for our table or we could choose to eat our meal at this lower bar table.

We ordered drinks and tried to order an appetizer and were told that if we were using the dining plan that we had to order all food at the place where we were going to eat. So we went on and ordered our entire meal to be served at the low bar table. it worked out great and we did not have to get up to go to the outside porch to watch the fireworks.

The bar area is seat your self. So you are taking a grab at whatever table opens up first.

It would be no problem to come early and go out onto the observation deck and view the fireworks.

I'd just like to say that we had horrible luck here with our ADR. We made an ADR (confirmed with a CC) for 8:00 p.m. and showed up 15 minutes early. We weren't seated until close to 9:00 p.m.! While we waited at the bar, no one seemed to interested in evening seeing if we wanted a drink. That being said, the food was amazing and watching Wishes from up there was unbelievable. Not only that, but we spoke with the manager after our meal and she was most apologetic. We found out later that she creditted our room card with $50 and told us to call her directly if we ever come back. I hope you have better luck with waiting than we did.

Well thank you for your reply.

I think the main thing we would like to do is seeing the fireworks :rolleyes1 .

As I have never been there, I did not know what the CG looks like, but it sound as if there is a bar or waiting area anyways to see the "magic in the sky" ?

There's an observation deck outside on the roof to view the show from and the pipe in the music.

Yes--you'll need to go outside to see the fireworks--can't see a whole lot from the bar area.
