ADR System Upgrade - History

I was thinking today. You know who I REALLY feel bad for in this mess, IF they open up late March - current ressies all at the same time, on 12/22 or whatever date. The people for whom that is their 180 days!!! Trying to get CRT or CM in that mess of calls!

I thought about this too. I miss 12/22 by only a few days. My 180 day mark is 12/18. Whew! I need to make ressies for both CRT Breakfast and Chef Mickeys for dinner.

We are going then too! Hopefully we aren't trying to get the same ADRs;)
I have never been this late making them.:sad1:

That would be too funny... I have my ressie for the first day and last day. I just need to fill up the rest. The funny thing is I never have planned this much for Disney ever. If I dare say it, we usually just wing it  but for this trip I want everything planned and see what happens, the whole dining system is being upgraded.:rotfl:

Add this to the mess, not only will it be those of you who hit the 180 mark calling in when they open, but all of us who are already past who haven't been allowed to yet. They only way I see them taming some of the chaos is to set certain days when they first open. Say for instance if it opens on Dec 22 like it has been rumored, they only allow ADR's from March 22-April 12 for say 2 days, then April 12-April 30 for 2 days, then May 1-15 for 2 days till they catch up to the 180 day mark. As it stands now it would be almost 3 months of us all trying to get in at the same time. I would not want to be one of the reservation people when they do open it as it stands right now! I think I would have to call in sick or something.

I am heading down to disney the first of May and was wondering when I can start making reservations??? I know the 180 days deal is out the window right now, but how far in advance can I book?

Thanks!

Wing it:scared1::scared1:
We have everything planned also. We are taking our good friends who haven't been before, and they are so excited about trying some of the restaurants that we have talked about. My friend's DH has tons of pics of his fathers. His dad owned a stone business, and supplied a lot of the white landscape rock used in the MK. WDW asked him if he wanted payment in cash or in stock in WDW. He said cash, because he thought nobody would go all the way to Florida to see a mouse:rotfl:So this is extra special for him. I'm crossing my fingers that we all get what we are hoping for.:)

So we should all blame you for this mess

That's me! 12/22! Or not...

I keep hoping that I come on this thread and someone posts that they were able to booke their ADR's through May. Oh well, no such luck. Stilling counting down and hoping the 12/22 date it true.

Your going to have to wait until the end of the month. You can only reserve CRT, Victoria and alberts and I think chef Mickeys right now.

This makes excellent sense and would seem to work very well! So, of course, it won't happen, LOL!

The only issue I see with staggering it would be that the lines would still be flooded with people wondering if they could make their reservations LOL!!

Otherwise I too think it's a good idea, and it was originally said that they'd do it this way. Then when Disney themselves announced the upgrade, they announced it'll be a floodgate.

It won't be fun for either the CM's or the guests, luckily those that make the call will have little to no involvement in the implementation of their idea.

I'm subscribing to this thread to get the latest. I'm sure it will be a bit chaotic when the ADR system opens, but Disney certainly isn't sold out as it has been during the spring in the past. It could be worse! I can't believe the park hours have been cut back so much for March!

Sorry guys - I really didn't think I would have to worry about this because I didn't think we would be going back to the World for at least a couple of years... BUT I got a pin code and it was to good of a deal to pass up (Not to mention DH wants to hit Star Wars Weekend)... So we are going in June...

SO... my 180 day mark is December 21st... I wasn't prepared for that.. we leave on the 22nd for our Christmas trip... can I make my 180 day ADR's on the 21st or is everything at 90 days?

Thanks!!!

Well I called reservations last night for our march 21st trip. I reservered the 21 and 22, then they told me to try back mid Janurary since they are still upgrading their systems. So you wont be able to make them 180 out like normal. They are taking reservations up until March 22. They will take reservations for 180 mark for Chef Mickeys, CRT, and V&A.

We leave May 26 & I haven't even really decided where to eat yet. Normally I have it planned a month or two before ADR time. With the system down, I just haven't felt the need to plan ahead. Is it still seeming like the 22nd will be the opening day? If so, then I guess I really need to nail down my plans. Thanks!

You can still work on your plans, but the closer we're getting to December 22 the more unlikely it's becoming that we'll see a launch that date. The CM's aren't even trained on the new system and their training has apparently been pushed back to early January.

Yikes! It is going to be one crazy morning when phone lines open! I'm afraid that I'll end up not getting to call in right away due to work. I really think that I'll need to make some 2nd & maybe even 3rd choices this time. Is the system supposed to be online & with phones? I'll be really glad when this is all fixed & I can make my plans!

Online reservations will be available 'after' they launch the regular system. I am hoping that this is still the plan, I imagine that it will still be a huge stress to the system jut opening the phone lines (whenever they do that :rolleyes1 )

This is so stressful!! This June trip will be my birthday trip and I really wanted to secure some nice restaurants. In Nov, we ate with Mickey just too many times! I'd like to enjoy some adult restaurants this trip! :rotfl2:

I really feel for those who are planning their Spring honeymoons. I'd be a wreak if that was me!
