ADR System Upgrade - History

SOOO CONFUSED.

I'm on-site 3/21-3/28

I made ADR for 3/21, 3/22 & 3/23 (Chef Mickey), so should I expect to make my remaining ADRs based on a 90 day window?

12/27? Am I counting from my on-site check-in or check out?

Same boat here! :wave2: I'm at WL from 3/19 to 3/26 & have only been able to plan out 1/2 of my vacation! We'll both be able to make reservations when Disney either, opens the booking window for another month or so, or gets their new system up & on line, )whichever comes first!) -with no set date for either of those events!

Stay tuned, you are now at least subbed to the correct thread to get the most up to date info anyone has. :thumbsup2 :surfweb:

Heh! :rotfl: Tricia beat me to it! (Of course!) :goodvibes

LOL - what's almost more funny is how similar our posts are and we were typing them at the same time. GMTA

(Though I am not going in March - that's different :teeth: )

So . . . do we think there is any point in my taking the ADR phone number on vacation and trying to book on the 22nd?!

Personally I absolutely don't believe that the system will launch on 12/22. If they do anything I think they'll open another small window.

I just talk to 2 different CM for an April trip, one through DVC, another through regular reservations.

The DVC CM said they thought something was going to happen on the 14th - oops, missed that. She said something could happen any day now.

The other said (after checking something on her computer) try back on Dec. 22, but no confirmation.

So I just got off the phone with CM to give them my flight information for our trip in May and when we were finished exchanging information, he asked if there was anything else he could help me with today? So of course I threw out the ADR question. He was very nice and sincere  and said "You know what, I have a really good feeling about this weekend and/or the first of next week so definitely try then but I do know it's going to be up and running very very soon." :wizard: Regardless of whether he's correct or incorrect, he left me thinking positive thoughts! :yay:

Hopefully you positive thoughts are right. I had really positive thought the last 2 "confirmed" dates and of course nothing happened. I really don't think they are going to launch a new system a few days before Christmas. If there are problems (which there always are with new systems) than they are not going to want to deal with it over a holiday. I bet they open another month and than launch in Jan.

We will see

So can I make my May ADRs yet? I have them all planned based on the May park hours I dreamt up last night.
(hehe just kidding! :goodvibes )

This waiting is frustrating !! I hope when they do open up it will not be a nightmare to get a ressie !!

Just decided we should book a trip at the end of June. I haven't kept up with the latest concerning the swtich to online reservations. Is it up and running? If not, how far out can reservations be made now? TIA!

Maybe they will atleast open another window (say through May) on the 22nd...I was thinking over Christmas they might not be as swamped with calls since a lot of people will be celebrating and unable to call for ADR's during that time. I dunno just a thought.

Pooh's Twin...what are the May hours again?? :rotfl:

My daughter decided that she has to eat at Boma when we go in June. Apparently, she has also decided that she needs pretzel bread and cheese soup from LeCellier. Well, there goes my CS-only trip idea. Oh well, those are my 2 favorite restaurants as well. Now, I have to fight everyone else for those coveted dinner reservations at LeCellier. This will be DH's first trip to the AKV (our new home) and he has never eaten at LeCellier. Hopefully, he will enjoy both of them.

Now, the waiting begins....

Strange, isn't it? Seems very "off-shorish" to me. Or, there could be much more than meets the eye on this one.

Ugh, now that you mention it, it does seem that way. Of course, this is purely speculation, but offshoring would also explain why none of the CMs have been trained on this system so close to the go-live date. I pray that is not the case. I have HAD IT with India-based support.

I am not much into unions, but I think that the Union employees at Disney couldn't be outsourced to India in the middle of their contract.

I further doubt the move to offshore because training has been scheduled as late as early December (for the Disney employees), but was postponed due to the system delay.

I tend to believe that the canned emails are just that - canned emails, and Disney is hesitant to release another date for 'going live' only to push it back again.

I'm gonna be really mad if they open up the ADR's for the first week of May when we don't even know the park hours. ;)

Not all CMs are going to be trained on the system at the launch. The idea is to have guests and travel agents book on line, and associate the ADR with the actual resort reservation. This should cut down on a lot of phone calls just for dining.

CM training started Tuesday (Dec 16) and the TA system was going down on Dec 17 at 9:00pm, and the entire reservation system was going down at 10pm, to work on the "enhancement." CMs will have more training on Thursday, Dec 18. Hopefully the system will be back up on Thursday afternoon.

DOn't know when it will go live, but I hope it will be on line soon.

OMG! I will be so done with ADRs if that happens! I am so sick of dealing with people who can't speak our language in a real conversation and have no personality! That is part of the fun of talking with CMs - they are usually so fun to talk to!

Whew! I hope so!

I have been calling a lot regarding making resort reservations for family. I make a point of asking about dining each time and am always told 12/22. We'll see.
