ADR System Upgrade - History

Not to add to the bad news............but......I called this morning to make our Chef Mickey's ressie and the dining cm told me that they decided to delay the training because it was too close to the holidays. She also said she hasn't even been given a date for her training and that the new system probably won't be read until mid to late January. I asked about extending the date to April and she said she knew nothing about that.:confused3

The only silver lining is that Disney hasn't released their May or June park hours yet.

Really? Every day? (psst, I have Christmas Cards that need to go out if you have extra time......:rotfl2: )

Hey Pumbaa... Yea it does seem silly but I get to my office at 6:45am each work day and the first thing I do before starting work is make the call. It has become part of my morning routine. After "Kauppy" :surfweb: and doughnut. Sad? I know... Whats a Disney Nut to do. ?

We have ay reservations for May and have been trying to make ADR's....yesterday I was told that Decebe 22 was no longer in effect...now it was ...."call after January 1???"....

I can't believe a company the size of Disney brings down a system like this for months on end. We'd be out of business if we did that. When we are doing a large upgrade or system replacement, we do testing & training with a copy of our scrambled production data. When we bring it online, we also have the old system running concurrently in case there are any issues we can swap back over. Bringing the whole thing down for more than a few hours is not an option.

nothing has actually been brought down, they have just shortened the adr window

by closing off the window, they are hoping to have a limited window where they have ressies in the prior system

disney has never been cutting edge when it comes to their reservation systems technology. :confused3 actually, i would love to see them go back to a 60 day window for adr's ducking

I think it's safe to say that the first people seated in the most popular Disney restaurants will be Disboarders :lmao:

We'll all nod to each other in a weary, cathartic, kind of glory.

We are supposedly going on May 23-30th and have CM booked. Didn't want to prepay for CRT yet, even though there is plenty of availability (not sure who is going with us, would love park hours/EMH....)

We're hoping to snag a CP, Tusker House and one of the princess meals (Akershus, CRT, or 1900 PF).

Bring it, Disney!

We'll be there at the same time. I have CM booked and am also hoping for CP & Tusker--maybe we'll run into each other :goodvibes Those are going to be my only three TS meals this time unless we decide to try T-Rex for lunch on our last day.

I am sure it will all work out *mantra* :rotfl2: \

We actually had 2 walk ins (CP and Ohana) for our trip 2 weeks ago, and had a walk in at CRT breakfast back in April. I try not to worry too much about getting that ADR. But with the chaos this is causing, I do wonder about the post-ressie fall out (double bookings, grabbing whatever, and such)

I am sure it will all work out *mantra*

it's too bad that can't put all of us in a chat room on Monday while we are on hold trying to make ADR's for dates that probably won't be open.

As much of a Disney freak that I am, this whole ADR system is leaving a real bad taste in my mouth for planning my first ever trip to the World. :sad2: :sad1:

* * * * * *

just received this e-mail that I sent ages ago asking about the ADR's

Dear Angela,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Due to system enhancements we are only able to book any dine reservations from now through March 22, 2009. We will have our full 180 day availability beginning December 22, 2008. The exceptions are Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Victoria and Albert's, these locations will continue to book 180 days out.

Although it is not currently possible for dining arrangements to be made online or through e-mail, guests are welcome to call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463), to book reservations for most of our dining experiences.
Hours are 7:00am to 10:00pm Eastern Time.

We look forward to your visit.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Ronda Kendall

Strange, isn't it? Seems very "off-shorish" to me. Or, there could be much more than meets the eye on this one.

I have made my list and probably changed it every week for the last two months becasue my ADR's are not set in stone.. And ill continue to change it untill they are. There are just so many restraunts to choose!!!! :faint: Imam need 2 weeks of sleep once this all gets settled!!!

SOOO CONFUSED.

I'm on-site 3/21-3/28

I made ADR for 3/21, 3/22 & 3/23 (Chef Mickey), so should I expect to make my remaining ADRs based on a 90 day window?

12/27? Am I counting from my on-site check-in or check out?

90 days or 180 days has nothing to do with reservations other than Chef Mickey, CRT and Victoria & Albert's.

The system as of right now is open through 3/22 period. They may (or may not) open another small window prior to launching the full system in January.

BUT the good news is that you're subscribed to this thread now, so when there is any change or update you'll get notification!! :thumbsup2
