I just found this post also...I have no idea how I missed it! Have they announced the date that they will start this? How SWEET is this? Making our own ADR's...no phone...you're own flexibilty of checking out what else is available if your first request is not available!!!! AWESOME

Thank You for the Great info! I hope it works this well on the 26th! I'm debating on calling or doing it online!

Please folks, don't plan around being able to book online by the 26th!

NOTHING has actually been announced as far as I know, and even if it was an official date, these things have a habit of changing.

It's all just guesswork and internet rumours at the moment - although it'd be great if they were true.

Sorry about this - I'm confused!!! I arrive in WDW on 11 August, staying until 25th. I have made my ADRs for the first 10 days. To make ADRs for the last 4 days of our trip do I have to wait until it's 90 days from each one? Thank you.

what does it mean by May 26 the DRS system will be retired???? this is in the sticky!!! where is a swearing smiley when you need one, I ask!!!! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

:headache::headache::headache:

I think May 26th is my ADR day, we go Aug 23??? Will I be able to call I am totally freaking!!!!

I have NOT been worried about this new system, because I have had in the back of my mind that I can call if I want. Plus, there has been reports( from TA's) that the system does not do bigger parties over 7 &sometimes 9 HDDR

I guess travel agents from Canada are exempt from the online ADRs system? There is nothing about it on our website..... :sad1:
That's funny because on our site it says Canadian TA's should check their site :confused3

Can someone clarify for me so I don't totally freak out? This is the first I have heard of booking online the ADR's. Is that quicker and easier than doing the calling race 90 days out? I don't want to miss getting into CRT!!! What is the suggestion? When does this officially start? AHHHHH!!!!
If you look at the title of this thread you'll see that the udpates go into the 1st post.
Online booking was rolled out for travel agents on 5/11, it is rumored that the general public will have access on 5/26 but that's not guaranteed. ADR's are still at 90 days out.

It's hard to imagine that Disney would only let people make ADR's online, since many many people do not have access to computers or the internet.

To the best of my knowledge, it does not mean that you won't be able to call. DRS, that is the name of the current/old reservation system, not the one they installed and are switching to.

I was up at midnight!! The calendar did not roll over at midnight. I tried at 12:05 and the new date was not up yet. However - when I got up at 6:35, the new date was on there. So it did appear sometime during the night, but I don't know when yet.

It's still so new, that it's possible this will all change before it's released to the general public.

Also, when you are trying to book at 90+10, you have to associate the dining with a WDW reservation. It may not be possible to use more than one browser, or even a phone call at the same time. The system might lock that reservation while in use. The Disney cruise line locks linked reservations when you're booking Palos and excursions. If one cabin is logged in, the others can't.

I think it's great that they're testing it out on the TA's first though. It should mean a much smoother experience for everyone else.:)

I wonder if they've set it up like the DCL site. Those of us in the Eastern time zone can make our online Palo reservations at 3:00am - midnight on the West coast. Any of you TA's want to volunteer to check that theory?!! :)

Actually those of us in the Eastern time zone can make DCL reservations at midnight. People on the West coast can make resrvations at 9:00 PM, their time.

It's been posted on another thread that the online ADR system rolls over around 2-3:00 am each day. I believe you can start making ADRs for the next available date around 4:00 am onward. This is typical of hospitality sites, even hotels themselves, which perform their night audits around this time. If this is indeed the case, we should be able to begin making ressies a few hours prior to 7:00 am each day, provided Disney doesn't put the kibosh on it.

Sounds like (for once!) UK visitors might actually get an advantage over the US - 4am ET is a very civilised 9am UK time. :)

Well, that just goes to show you how long its been since I've been on a Disney Cruise!!! (2006) Or, could be that my memory ain't what it used to be!!! I could have sworn I was sitting at the computer at 3am booking Palo!!

Thanks for the clarification! :thumbsup2

Wow online ADRs how 2009!! hahahaha

Actually, I'm very excited for it. One question for the TAs that can use it now...SIL & fam are on a separate reservation number...there are 5 in that party, two in my party. When we want to make an ADR for all 7 of us, but neither reservation number has 7 in the party, is that a problem? Or does it allow you to book for people than in the resort reservation?

Thanks

not a TA, but party size has nothing to do with how many in your "room" or reservation. You can book for as many as want to dine with you at any particular time. It's always been that way.

Perfect! That's what I was hoping. Just wasn't sure if when you put in your reservation number if it would default to how many were in your resort ressie! Glad to hear that won't be changing!

It doesn't default to the number in your party. I made ressies yesterday for a party of 6 with only 3 in the reservation.:)

I was on the travel agent site making dining reservations for our personal trip
in late June. I would suggest that you continue to make reservations by phone at this time.

I tested the system with locations I knew did not sell out and found that I was not able to get a reservation however I called and got the desired reservation with no problem. I tried this with three reservations at different times of the day.

I do like the fact that you can put in the desired restaurant and a range of dates. It also will give you the option to add if you are an annual passholder, DVC member or Tables of Wonderland participant. At the end of your reservation it will inform you of the appropriate discount to use for your dining experience. I understand that this information will remain in the system so the restaurant knows that you have a discount when you arrive.

It also gives you the option of adding a credit card for the dining experiences that require a pre-payment or guarantee.

If you have a reservation number you can access that information and your dining reservations will attach to your room reservation.

Overall, a great feature but until the kinks are out I would continue to call!

OK this is probably a really dumb question... I just want to make sure that I understand. If this is a go on the 26th is the website being referred to main disney site? Or should I be looking somewhere different?

Correct me if I am NOT understanding this correctly. TA's will have access to the reservation system at 3-4 am eastern and people calling can only start calling at 7 am?

Where's the fairness in that? We are effectively locked out for the first 3-4 hours?

The link will appear somewhere on the actual Disney website whenever they decide to give the general public access to do their own online ADRs. At the present time, no one can say exactly when or where it will appear.

Yes, for the next two weeks TAs have a headstart on making ADRs each morning. I do not believe all TAs are aware of this, and I do not believe all of them will go that extra mile for their clients, i.e. waking up at 3:30 am to make a handful of ressies (though I'm sure some of them will :) ). It's just a challenge that those who have to make ADRs in the next two weeks will have to endure. Unfortunately, there's no way around it.
