ADR System Upgrade - History

Okay so I was worried when I read the boards and thought Chef Mickey would be all booked up for May 16th week because it was still 180 days out till June 19th- so called today and asked if I could book and was told no it was already changed to the 90 day rule. I did ask them to check on the availability for my week and he said there were still openings- just not sure why I couldn't book a ressie? Anyone know if I should call back to get another CM that may give me a different answer?

Call again - You will be able to make your reservation. Quite a few have booked their June reservations, some have even gotten them made today.

I was just able to change my Chef Mickey's reservations for the first week of June. I was scheduled for June 4 but had to move it up a day to June 3 because it's looking like a DHS possible Fantasmic day on the 4th. The CM let me do it no problem, however I couldn't book any other restaurants yet.

So I just called Disney to make a payment on our trip that is scheduled for December. The CSR mentions about making dining reservations and I ask when my 90 day date is, she gives me the info and then tells me that what my 180 day date is because the new system might be taking 180 day reservations by then. Confused, I asked if the 90 day rule was going back to 180 day rule and for all dining and she said yes.

Has anyone else heard this?

Wow, I'd love to know if this is what's going to happen, I don't want to miss any marks...90 or 180 days out??

The mods are still keeping an eye on this thread and the ADR situation, we'll be sure to update here if any changes occur.

I can say that the documentation from Disney, with their employees, back in December and again in January stated pretty clearly that they intended that 90 days was permanent (or at least temporarily permanent - nothing other than Mickey himself is forever at Disney - lol)

Anyway, if we hear a whisper of a change we'll update here, but for now I'd plan on 90 days sticking around for quite a while.

Any news when online will be up and running?

I had to change both Chef Mickey and CRT back in Jan. I did both and the CM I had told me to call back in February because it is suppose to go back to 180 days but they didn't know exactly when so yes I have heard that 90 is temporary as well.

when I finalized all of my plans for dining (90 days out) I had been chatting with the CM about this and she told me that Chef Mickey's, and the other 2 that were the only ones not frozen during the changeover were 180 days out until that date in June. I am not sure what the date is but for some reason I am thinking the 16th. So, right now, anything past the 16th cannot be booked until 90 days out...then, 90 days out from here on in.

Bottom line, someone should be able to still make ressies for Chef Mickeys before that date in June. Like I said, I think it's the 16th but I could be completely off because it doesn't apply to my vacation and I had too many other dates to remember :)

Wow! I've been on hold for 30 minutes already! I guess I called on the wrong day since no one else seemed to have a wait making their ADR's. Since I'm in Cali it's 4:30am. I wanna go back to bed!!! :crazy2:

Has anyone else gotten thru this morning?

pretty sure it's the 19th cause thats right in the middle of my two weeks.

I've not even heard a whisper about online being up and ready anytime soon. It sure will be nice once they get that up and going. (Assuming that their computers can handle the load! LOL )

Ok, it took 62 minutes on hold but I managed to get everything I wanted at the time I wanted. I forgot about BLT opening up today for new owners. No wonder it took so long!!

Guess I must have got luck on the wait, only a minute or two for three phone calls over the past week.
Got all my ADRs at the requested times (early for breakfast, 5pm dinners).
The 90 day timeframe seems to work well.

wow! that's a long wait! I had none at all when I called on 1/31. I was just thinking that maybe today was the Exact 90 days for Mother's Day - so that any offsite/locals were all calling for those ressies. But it looks like that date is tomorrow unless I'm calculating wrong.

My 180 days is coming up and it will be the end of february so I am still going to try and call and see what happens because when I originally booked my bounceback the cm told me that they would be going to a temporary 90 day system until the upgrade had all the kinks worked out but would be reverting back to 180 days by the time my 180 day mark rolled around so I am assuming before the 216 of feb it was expected to be back to the 180 day mark because that is my 180 day mark at least originally it was suppose to be anyway! we shall see what happens!

The explanation I read and heard when I called WDW dining today was that during the transition they were taking reservations to Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's and Victoria and Albert's thru June 19, 2009. On March 22, 2009 (the 90 day window to the June 19th date) those 3 spots move to a ninety day booking time. So you can book one of these three now for a date prior to June 19th, but for later trips, you will need to call ninety days prior.

Today I booked CRT for my daughter's birthday June 14, 2009, and I won't be able to call back until March 13 to book my other ADRs. I was actually quite surprised, since I didn't realize I could book it 180 days out when I heard about the switch to 90 days, and I assumed all those "in the know" had snagged all the spots. But I got exactly what I wanted, first seating for lunch! Yea!

It's only a nope for everyone arriving after June 19th. If you are arriving prior to June 19, you can call NOW for Victoria and Albert, Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table only. Everything else, you have to wait the 90 days prior.

It's important to make the distinction, because I almost didn't get a CRT reservation June 11-18 because I didn't know this, and all three of these are almost full up for the week I'm going to be there. If you want one of these three locations, and you're arriving before June 19, you'll probably be out of luck if you wait for the opening of the 90 day window.

I just read this explanation on the Mom's Panel, and when I called today the CM confirmed it when I made my reservations for CRT and Chef Mickey's only.
