Hi, I am hopefully making some ADRs today (my first time!:hyper: ) and I was hoping that some one could help me with some questions I have?

1) Does the 10 day window open when staying on site from the first night of stay or from the day that I want the first ADR?

2)which restaurants require a credit card to book? also I assume that they will only charge the credit card if I don't turn up on day of arrival? (we don't plan on eating at the Cinderella Castle restaurant)

3)Do I give the CM my VH reference or do I need another?

4) Anything else I should know before I call?

Thank you for any help, I am a bit nervous about calling.:crazy2:

hi
phone at 12 when it opens,

For some resturants they need credit card to book but only the ones which take 2 credits and character ones i believe, if you are on the dining plan let them know when you book, They do take a credit card number for these to garuntee but do not charge anything till you are there.

You can book from 180 + 10 from day you arrive on site.

If booking any activities then these need a ccard as well ,

i think dinner shows need to be paid outright? (is that right)

Good luck and hope you get all your reservations you want:)

Just to be clear you can make your reservations 180 days in advance of your trip which we all suggest you do for the ones you especially want, otherwise you'll be sitting there for possibly a couple hours waiting for a table and tied to a pager.

Bumping this with some questions...

What happens when the CC you use to book ADRs expires before your trip? Do you still have to bring it along as proof of reservation even though you'll have a new CC?

Do any reservations require full payment on booking?

TIA

If you don't show, they'll charge your card with the penalty fee. I'm guessing that, when you book, they might ask you to phone back again with updated details once you receive your new card. However, if you keep your reservation, you can pay by any means you like, so you don't need to take the card along at all unless you want to pay with it. It's not necessary to let them know you're on the Dining Plan when you phone to book.

These are the restaurants for which a credit card guarantee is currently required:

  • Victoria & Albert's - $25 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's - $25 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Citrico's Chef's Domain - $100 penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Fantasmic! Dining Experience - $10 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Grand Floridian's Grand Adventures in Cooking - $10 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Grand Floridian's Pirate Cruise - $10 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Grand Floridian's Wonderland Tea Party - $10 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Princess Storybook Breakfast - $10 per person penalty unless you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

Payment in full, with a credit card, is required at the time of booking for the following (although you will receive a full refund provided you cancel at least 48 hours in advance):

  • Cinderella's Royal Table.

  • Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review.

  • Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau.

  • Mickey's Backyard Barbecue.

  • My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party (credit card will be charged in advance, but not necessarily at the time of booking, with full refund if cancelled at least 72 hours in advance).

Deb we booked this back in march and they didn't take anything off my card and up to yet they havne't.She asked me if I was on the dinig plan which we are and she said it would use 2 credits. If we didn't show or cancel within the 72 hours they would charge $20. Do you thinkI should call them and check this as this is booked fro my DD5th birthday and I don't want to loose out if they have messed up.

They also took a credit card guarentee when I booked for California Grill not sure how much the penalty is but I have to give 48 hours notice if I wish to cancel.

I wouldn't worry too much if that's what she told you - maybe the policy has changed. You might want to try posting a question on the Restaurants board - someone over there is bound to know.

it might because you are on the DDP.

Another (crossposted) question

We're staying offsite but would like to make a couple of ADRs. When I call on our 180 day window, can I make *both* reservations at once (the second will be less than a week later), or will I need to call again when the other 180 window is open?

I know resort guests can book 180+10, but I'm not fortunate enough. :sad1:

Thanks!

You can make the first one at the 180 day window. Then you will need to make the second one at its 180 day window.

if your on the ddp and have gave cc info at time of booking adr, they dont charge cc but hold it on file incase you dont turn up.Would advise if you have to pick up tickets for dinner shows to get them as soon as you check in.Then they would just debit your TS and not your CC
