ADR Question

Presently there are 3 adults and one child ( who will be 2 1/2 at the time of our trip in sept). We will be able to make our dining reservations on 3/10. One adult and the child is on the fence now about whether or not they will be able to go. I know I should probably make ADR for the 4 of us in case they go but if they decide they can't go, do I have to change all the ADR's to 2 people? And I know they will charge your credit card if you don't show up. Will they charge card for those 2 people if I don't change the party number?

Make it for 4. They will not charge you if only 2 show up.

The above is not applicable if the restaurant is CRT or a dinner show or the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party or anything else that you are expected to pay for when you book it. Even so, book it for 4, and then call and have the 2 removed once you know they are not coming. It appears they will do that for prepaid reservations. You should make sure you are able to remove them before the cancellation deadline.

You must include the child in the ADR even though he/she is only 2 and a half.

Make the reservations for the maximum number of people who might be coming. It's always easier to show up with fewer than to try and add someone when you check in. Although unlikely, it is still possible the restaurant will not seat the extra people because of fire code regulations or if it's running behind schedule. You will not be charged for the missing guests as long as at least one person shows up for the res.

As the PP said, the only reservations that you would want to change are the prepaid dinner shows and CRT. Be sure the CM on the phone doesn't cancel the reservation, but just processes a partial refund and leaves the rest of your reservation intact.
