ADR Question

We have several ADR's for 6 people. Just learned there is a possiblility that the grandparents may not be able to join us. That means we only need tables for 4.

The right thing to do is to let Disney Dinning know since someone else could use the larger table. But my understanding of how ADR's work is that they assign you to a table when you make the ADR. My concern is that if I cancel the tables for 6, there may not be a table for 4 available. What happens then?

Has anyone ever done this? What should I do?

I am sure that they can accomodate you.

I am in a very similar spot.
We were going to be a party of 7 now we are a party of 6.
When I called, most of what I wanted I could still have. The way I did it was I asked for the time for my NEW party size, made the new reservation, then canceled the old one.
If they could not fit me on the new size I kept my old reservation.
For the most part it was not a problem, there was one or two that I had a problem with, I will check again in a few weeks, worst case senerio, oops sorry........I guess.......unless it was a credit card hold, then you will be charged for those persons.
