hI All, :thumbsup2

I made a ADR for the following...

Cinderella's Royal Table
Magic Kingdom Park
Date: Sunday, 8/28/2011
Time: 8:40am (Breakfast Includes Characters)
Party Size: 3 Guests

DW have already taken the money off my Credit Card is normal for this booking, as other ADR's ive made they have not taken the payment yet

Yes, it is normal. Even those on the dining plan are being charged in full if they are doing it online. If you want to pay with the DDP I believe you need to take your card with you to the ADR, along with your KTTW cards, and they will process a refund to the card.

The only way to avoid paying in full upfront is to phone for your reservation (assuming you are on the DDP).

The confusion has arisen because they used to simply take the card details without actually taking any funds from the account unless the guest failed to cancel within the stipulated time frame, however this changed at some point (last year I think).

Only signature meals and dinner shows (typically "2 credit" meals) require you to pay in advance or provide your card details.

Not sure you correct Lee, I made my reservations last month online incl Yachtsman, Fantasmic & CRT, I had to enter credit card but no money has been taken. Only reason I have heard of money being taken in advance is when the reservation has not been linked to dining plan correctly.
I could understand if you had said it had changed in the past few weeks but it was only last month I did mine no problem.:confused3

Not sure then Wayne. There have been a few posts about this over the past few weeks and it sounds, the way I have been reading them, like this is how it is working of late. Unless it is the Disney system being predictably erratic  :headache:

This was my understanding of the current situation, however I could be wrong.

There is no reason to take money in advance if using DDP, the posts I have seen have rung up, had the money refunded & been told they did not link their DDP correctly(or I suspect computer didn't liink correctly:goodvibes)
It certainly won't work well if they take everyones money on DDP, I can't see an automatic refund when they have eaten and hand over their card for credits to be deducted.

Thanks for the reply guys..

But sorry i should of said that we are not on any DDP this time, so is that why they have taken the payment already ?

Oh no! You are so right about that. That is where the fun begins ..... :headache: Hence the dissatisfaction about the whole thing.

EDIT: Here is a current discussion on the issue. Posts 6 and 12 offer some useful info.

Its very easily missed to link your DDP to your reservation, I think this is the probem, the screen must say your DDP has been linked before you continue.

I think its correct then, you pay upfront if not on DDP.

CRT is in the league of 2 credit restaurants same as signatures & dinner shows, fantasmic package is a regular 1 credit meal with a free bonus of entry into Fantasmic.
Last month I 1st rang and booked Fantasmic for 14 of us, the CM took my credit card details, the next day I went online and found a later time so I cancelled the phone booking and rebooked, no credit card required online.

CRT and the dinner shows are the only ones where you pay in full up front.

CG & Fantasmic packages require CC guarantees.

:thumbsup2

We have an ADR for California Grill for 2 July. I made the ADR online and gave cc details and we have not been charged anything so far (I made the ADR in January). We are staying offsite this time so no DDP.
