Have any of you experienced problems with getting ADRs when having booked a package through WDTC UK?
My story's a bit complicated but here it goes:
I asked for a no obligation quote for our stay from a US travel agent specialised in Disney, as disneyworld.com did not show availability at the resort I wanted. They gave me a quote for the 4+3 deal in the resort I wanted and told me I had a week to make a deposit if I wanted to book.
In between asking for and getting that quote however, I found out that booking on disneyworld.co.uk at rack rates resulted in the same price in EUR, with the added bonus that the dining plan was much cheaper in the UK (again, converted into EUR).
So I thanked the travel agent for their help, but that I had found a much better deal in the UK thanks to currency rates. Needless to say, I booked with WDTC UK, added the DP and even an 8th night.
Then last Saturday, I call WDW-DINE to get my ADRs and it takes them several phone calls and half an hour to find my hotel reservation, but I eventually got the ADRs I wanted. They also gave me "their" confirmation number for my hotel booking, so that they could easily find it if needed in the future.
Today, I called WDW-DINE again to see if they could modify one of my ADRs and it turns out all of my ADRs are linked to a hotel booking made by that travel agent
. So it took me 3 agents before one understood that I had not booked with a travel agent, but with the UK office of WDTC, only to have her tell me that they could not find any other reservation under my name! I would just have to sort things out both with that travel agent and with WDTC UK, because (and here's the catch) if the travel agent calls them and asks to cancel everything under my name, all my ADRs are gone as well...
Have Dining agents been able to find your WDTC UK bookings in their system or am I not the first to go through hours of international calls (thank you Skype!)?
