Need some help...

I have ADRs made for October 9-16 for a party of 7, however, my brother and his family (3 of the 7) are thinking about cancelling. This means I will only have 4 instead of 3. Getting as close as it is... there is not much left in the way of availability, so here is my question:

Should I keep my 7 person ADRs and explain that the other 3 will not be attending when I check in at the restaurant, or is it possible to change from 7 to 4 and keep the ADR?

I am so annoyed right now, because i fought hard for these ADRs and the thought of starting from scratch less than a month away is infuriating.

Here is what I have ADRs for, if it helps:

Kona Cafe
Ohana
Liberty Tree Tavern
Chef Mickeys
Whispering Canyon
Crystal Palace
Teppan Edo

Thanks!

It seems like you are going from 2 tables pushed together down to 1 for most reservations and therefore they might be able to accomodate you by simply canceling/re-booking right away. Call and find out!

i would call them up try to change them, but if they can not do that then just keep them all and call the restuarant that morning and change them. the cm at the restuarant can just change it in his system and that would free up the table that morning for a walk up or someone trying to call that morning

Before I did anything, I'd try playing around with those same restaurants and times on the Disney Dining Reservation site. You may be able to get times very close to what you have now.

I had a similar issue and this is what I was told:

Book the ADR for the largest size possible (which you've already done, it appears.)
When you know the correct party size for sure, call back and ask to UPDATE your ADR, rather than cancel.

They did this for me twice now with no problem.

Going DOWN in size is never an issue, going UP in size is.

On our last trip I had plans for 6 of us, then my father in law up and died just to screw up my ADRs. (Ok, sick sense of humour I know).

I called and explained the situation, and the cast member simply removed one guest from each ADR, no re-booking needed. Disney actually appreciates you do this as soon as you know for sure that your party size has changed, as it frees up space and makes life easier when you actually show up.

I was hoping someone had a similar situation... Thanks for he info.!

OK, I called last night and changed all my reservations from 7 to 4 with no problems at all.

Thanks for the help!
