This week I make my ADR's for my trip in June, party of 2 adults. We are not doing the dining plan since we think we'd be paying more than what we'd eat. I have never eaten at another resort, was wondering if I should since Ill be there for 7 days

Day 1- Via Napoli
Day 2- Mama Melrose- Fantasmic Package
Day 3- Akershus Breakfast
Day 4- BOG breakfast, possible Liberty Tavern for lunch or dinner
Day 5- Coral Reef or Rose and Crown for lunch, maybe Yak and Yeti for dinner
Day 6- Beaches and Creme?
Day 7- BOG dinner, Wishes desert party

Day 5 and 6 I am still not sure if anyone has any suggestions. I have not done any of these restaurants except Liberty Tavern and BOG for lunch. Both I really enjoy! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! :thanks:

Day 1- Via Napoli - Love it
Day 2- Mama Melrose- Fantasmic Package - Had an okay experience here
Day 3- Akershus Breakfast - Do you have a strong need to see the Princesses? The breakfast is nothing special for the price.
Day 4- BOG breakfast, possible Liberty Tavern for lunch or dinner - Love LTT for lunch
Day 5- Coral Reef or Rose and Crown for lunch, maybe Yak and Yeti for dinner - I've never been to any of these, Rose and Crown is on my to do list though. I like the Chefs de France lunch menu.
Day 6- Beaches and Creme? - Love it here for tomato soup/grilled cheese and a sundae
Day 7- BOG dinner, Wishes desert party - Sounds fun!

Where are you staying? The Wave and Captain's Grille both have a breakfast buffet for less than the character meals if you are just looking for a nice breakfast spot. The Plaza in MK has become my regular dinner spot there.

We are staying at CBR, my favorite place! Where is the wave and Captain's Grille located? What types of food is served there? I always forget about the plaza...I do think I will have to look into that. Isn't it located on the rightside facing the castle? Opposite of Caseys?

Rose & Crown is much better than Coral Reef, IMO. Yes, The Plaza is opposite Casey's-mostly burgers and sandwiches-we eat lunch there every trip. The Wave is very good for dinner-it is at The Contemporary. Captain's Grille, at Yacht Club, is also good-you can have either the buffet at breakfast or order a la carte.

I like Via Napoli and Mama Melrose

Unless you have a really good reason to eat at Akershus, I would skip it. I liked it for a Pre Park opening Princess breakfast. but we had a 5 and a 7 YO in tow who were Princess fanatics. It is a pricy meal.

Of the two, I would choose BOG prepark opening breakfast. We had lunch at LTT two weeks ago and while it was not terrible, it is off my rotation. It has been years since I had dinner there, but given a choice in the MK, I would try the Skippers Canteen if possible.

Coral Reef is hit or miss for us. We have had delicious meals and mediocre meals there. On the other hand, we have never had a disappointing meat at R&C. We enjoy lunch because it is a nice break in a TS environment.

B&C is okay, but we are in the minority. We seem to be the only ones who were underwhelmed. Most folks love it so I would keep it.

If you have not eaten at BOG dinner, I would try to have a meal there.

I do not see any resort dining on your list, and I think that is a loss. We tend to have a meal at a resort or on the Boardwalk at least twice a trip. If you have not dined at Flying Fish, it is excellent, as is Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. You get to explore the Boardwalk of you choose FF.

We also like Narcoossee or Citrico at that Grand Floridian, and my family loved Sanaa at the AKL. Actually it is located in the DVC section Kidani VIllage. I think a trip out there is well worth the time. Boma and Jiko, both very nice are located in AKL so you have the chance to explore that lovely resort.

A lot of folks like California Grill in the Contemporary. The view is awesome and if you like sushi, I understand it is superb. I have not dined there since the menu change so I cannot speak to the food any longer.

I hear a lot of people suggesting going to check out AKL, GF, or Contemporary. Is Boma the one where you can eat and watch the animals??? I thought maybe California grill during wishes but I am not sure how that works...

You can't see animals from Boma. That would be Sanaa, depending on the table. From either, you can go to lobby viewing areas to see animals after you dine.

Yes, the Plaza is across from Casey's. My favorite is the strawberry/chicken salad, the meatloaf and steak sandwich is also popular with my family. The dessert is good also. It's not much more than the MK counter service locations but I find the food much better.

I have never tried Via Naploi, but I would like to.

We really enjoyed Mama Melrose Fantasmic package. The calamari and steaks were wonderful. Dessert was not so great.

Akershus breakfast was great on our first trip, but just okay on our second.

I have been to BOG for lunch and have a breakfast there scheduled in April. I've heard great things about dinner.

Coral Reef is one of our favorite places!

Also loved Coral Reef but we paid for it with DDP so not sure if it's really worth the $33 for a steak but we really enjoyed it!

Thanks everyone for all the advice!!! After talking to my friend we made some minor changes and made the ADR's this morning. Got everything we wanted, some times were off but we are happy! I know people said that Akershus may not be worth the price for the breakfast but we are planning to hopefully go try the new frozen ride after breakfast. I am crossing fingers that this could happen...Was wondering since I have not done a breakfast before, If we have am 8:20 adr, would they let us in the 8:00 people?
