Hey guys! This is my first post here although I have been lurking for a few days now. I love all the information that I am finding here, so thanks!!

My husband and I are going to WDW in September, and we've made our ADR's based on a list of places that we felt were top notch and interesting for us to try.

Naturally, when I tried to book a table for 2 at Le Cellier, I got the whole speech about this being one of the most booked restaurants and the chances of it being available were not great. She was right..nothing for the 7 days we will be there. So, we were bummed since all the reviews sounded awesome, but we tossed in a ADR for Kona Cafe' instead.

I was advised though, to try calling back occasionally to see if there was a cancellation. Does this work? How many of you have your heart set on someplace and keep calling until you get a table? How long did it take and how often did you call? Furthermore, should I even be putting up the fight for Le Cellier, or will be be just fine with Kona?

I'd love to know how you guys feel about this since dining is on everyone's mind right now with the promo. :) Thanks so much!!

I would keep trying, people do cancel sometimes. Have you tried getting a lunch ADR? You could also try going there when they open, you might be able to get in, and if not, keep your Kona ADR.

In the end, you'll be happy either way. :)

Yep, I tried anything available for that week and there was nothing. If for some reason we did get into Le Cellier though (just walking in, and I doubt it), would we need to call the restaurant we were canceling with directly or the Disney hotline?

Hey, you never know. Sometimes people plan to hop from one park to another to eat and then get caught up in the first park. (We've done that) Some people make multiple ADR's for the same mealtime and then choose at the last minute what they want to do. (I don't, but know that other's do this) We've been so happy poolside that we didn't want to shower, change and go to the park for an early ADR dinner. (I did go to the hotel frontdesk and cancel our BOMA ADR - someone got lucky that night, we freed up a table for four on a night it was booked solid) Who knows the reason, but there are no shows for their ADR's.

If you do get into Le Cellier you can go into guest relations and have them cancel your other ADR. It is nice to cancel your ADR, but nothing will to you if you aren't able to. You could also call the disney dining #.

Keep your Kona Cafe ADR (a very good choice!).
Keep trying for Le Cellier occasionally, since that's what you had your hearts set on, and you may luck out.

Hi, We love 'Le Cellier' and have had wonderful luck in getting ADR's for the past two years on the free DP---that is until this year. We'll be in the parks from Sept 15th until the 30th and unfortunately for us--the restaurant is not available for a party of two at either lunch or dinner during those dates. I do know while previously waiting to be seated, that the CM were telling people to check back during the day just before the noon time and evening rush--they DO sometimes save tables for small groups --just in case. Last year, while waiting to be seated, a family of 3 asked about any openings and were turned away. Shortly thereafter an elderly couple ( probably had no idea about ADR's or the Dining Plan) asked the same question and were seated immediately---sort of made me feel good. So do ask!!

We called at 180 days and are a party of 2 for late Sept. and that seems to be harder to get then party or more. We did get LeCellier just a little later then asked but that is ok for us. We always start with LeCellier when booking ADR's what ever day or time for dinner we get is fine then work other ADR's around this.
But Kona also has great steaks and you can try Coral Reef they had a great NY Strip Steak last year.

Thanks for the feedback guys! We did manage to get a ressie for Coral Reef, so I was happy about that. The atmosphere is what turned us on to that one. Kona was one of my top picks anyway, so it's not a total loss. :)

What week were you looking for Le Cellier? Have you subscribed to the cancel/trade thread? Someone has a Le Cellier ADR up for grabs for the 29th.

HTH,

That would be me! PM if you are interested. It is a party of four though, can I get it traded for a party of 2?

If I were the person wanting it, take the party of 4 and then later call and downgrade it to party of 2.

Where is the cancel/trade thread? DH and I are also trying for a Le Cellier ADR for sometime between 9/13-9/17.
