ADR Issue- Split Party

We (me, DFiance, DD) booked a free dining trip as soon as the packages came out, made ADRs, etc.. Now, it seems as though DSis and DNiece (2 years-old) will be coming with us (which is cool).. added them to the room, no problem.

However, we could only add them to some ADRs. In order to keep some of our favorite places, we had to split the party (our original ADR + a 2 person ADR for them). Is there any possibility we'll be seated together if we ask nicely? Anyone have any reassurances? Horror stories? Any stories?

I just kinda want to have some idea of what to expect.

We went with a large group on December and had most of our reservations split in two ADRs - 5 and 6 I believe and EVERY meal we were able to be seated together - just check in early and ask nicely!

Almost everytime they can seat you together - Disney Dining just can't promise you that. Arrive a little earlier and request it at the host stand.

They only register a certain number of large party ADR's. When I used to work at the R&C we used to sort out large parties with split bookings easily. Just make sure both booking say they are together and when you check in reitterate it. Shouldn't be an issue at all. Most restaurants only have a standard number of larger tables but can rearrange the smaller ones to accomadate. The wait might be a little longer for a table because of this but I don't know any restaurants that would end up splitting you. The worse that could happen is you end up with 2 unjoined tables next to each other but you will be served as 1 party by 1 waiter so itll be fine.

Just a thought, but if you are also spending park time, down time and room time with them, you may want to have dining time without them. There are many threads about people traveling with family who would never do it again- too much togetherness.

You know, I've pondered that as well. However, I just think it'd be mean to leave DSis to eat all her meals with her 2 year old without any sane, adult interaction- so, meals won't be where we'll split off (unless we can't be seated together)- but we've already looked at different ways to break up the group for all sorts of other activities.



BTW, just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel better about the whole thing- I had started to really get myself worried...
