ADR - How to book 180 days + 10

Hi,

Question about ADR. If I select a restaurant and look at available ADRs, the calendar only goes 180 days out from today. But if you are staying on site, you are apparently allowed to book 180 days from your arrival date + 10 days out. So how do you get those additional 10 days out if the calendar doesn't go that far?

(Maybe I'm not seeing it as an option yet as my 180 day isn't until later in April...but I want to be prepared with no issues at 6am on that day )

As long as you have your reservation number in your MDE account, you shouldn't have a problem. The extra days will only show up 180 days from your check-in. You won't see it before then.

I'm sure this is a silly question, but what is an MSE account? On the Disney site, I am set up to sign in and do remeber a screen where I put in our reseration number (which is seemed to take, and then it displayed our names and travel dates, resort). Is this what you mean?

Also, am I going to have issues if my husband booked the trip, but I'll be the one making the reservations? Will it link everything...and can I use my own credit card when making the ADR (we'll be on the Dining Plan so also want things linked for CRT, where you have to pay in full).

So if the little magnet I got from Disney says I can start making reservations on March 24, I can actually start March 14 ? We are staying on site, arriving Sept. 20.

No, you can start on March 24th, which is 180 days from the start of your stay, but you can make reservations for 10 days into your stay. To get the best reservations, start with the last day of your stay.

MDE: My Disney Experience - It is the Disney website and App. It says it by the mickey head with a circle around it at the right most menu.

When you log into the website and go to "My Reservations and Tickets", your resort reservation should be in there. I would assume that you only have one login to the website, or do you and your husband have one? At any rate, log into the site with the reservation attached. You will then be able to make your reservations online.

The website is also the spot where you can customize your magic bands.

You can also make your ADRs by calling and giving them your reservation number over the phone.

Thank you for explaining MDE and how to link the reservation.

When I try, it comes up with an error saying that the reservation is linked to my husband's account. BUT I will be the one getting up at 6am to make reservations so what do we do?

1. Just have him give me his password and I sign in as him on the 180 day mark at 6am
2. Or is there a way he can add me to give me permission

If option 1, are there any other security questions that will cause issue when trying to book ADR (he won't be awake at 6am on a Sunday for me to ask if any issues!)

If option 2, is this possible?

EIther option, would there be an issue when needing to enter a CC? And if so, would I give my credit card or his?

One of my selections is BOG and so IF I manage to get it as an ADR, I don't want to lose it by having issues.

You can try to use your account. Login as your husband and go to the "Family & Friends" list. You should list all of your family there. There is a spot for adults to "Invite to Plan and Share" with other adults on the list who have their own MDE accounts. It says you can use that when others will be making plans on your behalf.

However, it would also work to login to your husbands account for ADRs. There are no security questions with an account.

We only have one account for our family that I manage, so I have never tried using the other method.

You will be able to use your own CC. If you have the dining plan already, it shouldn't charge you. You will still have to enter your CC for all ARDs because they all require a CC hold now. They do it in case of no shows. You are charged 10 per person if you don't show up or don't cancel the day before.

I plan on having the DDP, if that makes a difference. Also I have been told that late Sept./early Oct. is a slower period for WDW would 3-4 month ahead be enough to get an 8pm dinner at CRT or BOG or SOA or HDD?

I've only been once before and I didn't book until early March for a trip in mid May. Got all I wanted except SOA on my Anniversary (couldn't get it at all) and an early booking for CRT than I really wanted.

For CRT, SOA and HDD you would have to pre-pay the full amount at the time of booking because you won't have a dining plan yet. BOG has been booking up fully almost as soon as the dates become available so you'll probably have to keep trying online multiple times a day.

While late Sept-early Oct can be slower, there is the possibility of free dining which will impact dining reservations.

Booking a resort package requires only a $200 deposit. The balance will not be due until 45 days prior to check in date so for a late Sept trip that will be in August. You'll be able to book CRT, SOA, and HDD using the dining plan and won't have to pre-pay. You'll also have the 180 + 10 advantage for booking a BOG reservation.

Wow thanks. That is great to hear. I have more than enough so I'll put it on hold right away. With that can I make payments between now and then?
