ADR Hold Times - 2/22/2009 - Chatter and Venting Here

part of the problem is that we are put on hold only to get someone on the old syste, b/c we didn't get the date prompt so then they transfer us over onto the new system and you're back at the end of the line.

the bigger issue so far in my view is the new system itself - for whatever reason, it is taking substantially longer to get the ressies out of it.

Woo HOO! Score. After almost 3 freakin hours I was able to book Biergarten, Le Cellier and 'Ohana for the times and days I wanted.

I had to settle for a Le Cellier dinner slot which is kinda on the late side for us seeing that we have a toddler. I was able to get CM and CP with NO problems.

Congratulations!!! :cheer2: I'm glad your persistence paid off! I hope it's better in a couple of weeks when I have to make mine.

I was only calling for HDDR- and finally got it. Took hours though. geesh

I had my choice of times after a 3 hour wait!:headache: We are a large party (6) and that helped.

I started calling for my ADR's at 6am central time this morning for the week of May 23rd. After 25 minutes and only one ADR made, I was put on hold for 2.5 hours before I gave up (total of 3 hours!). About 30 minutes later I called back and got the message about pressing "1" if I needed ADRs for May 26 through June 1st (I think). After two hours I got a very nice and friendly CM that explained they just had several CM's come in which is why the wait was so terribly long before (with very few CM's handling the calls for the new system). When we ended our conversation he said the queue had gone from 112 calls down to 51 calls - so in about 20-25 minutes the new arrived CMs had cleared half the queue.

This is our 11th trip to DW and every trip I set my alarm to get up early so I can be one of the first callers, hopefully, and get the ADRs I want - just like most people!! So why wouldn't they staff the phones with more people first thing in the morning?

Yep I was on hold for 3 1/2 hours this am. As i said on another thread glad I have unlimited long distance. I made all of my res yesterday, with only a 20 min hold, with the exception of 1 for May 29th breakfast. There was some kind of glitch that wouldn't let you do breakfast for anywhere on that date. So the CM yesterday told me to call back today to try for it as she was sending in a trouble report.

Well this am after the inital answer, the phone system, while switching me over, hung up twice. I had to call back and was put on hold again. I explained all this to the 1st CM that answered and she said the Corporate Sorry and said you will have to go back to end of the line. Finally, I was able to book for the breakfast on May 29th after the final hold time of 3 1/2 hours. In reality I was on the phone from 7am to 11:30.

I was trying for Story Book Breakfast at Akershus and was very successful. Party of 7. We got all the res we wanted, including fantasmic Mama Melrose, Donalds Breakfast, CRT lunch, Chef Mickey, Lecellier. We we for fortunate. I thought with that kind of wait today I would never get the breakfast at Akershus.

I hope everyone else that has to get on the phone has a better result in being transferred over. Here sending Pixie Dust your waypixiedust:

I dealt with ADR today from 7 am to 1 pm. Fun times!!! I started right at 7 am and began to immediately press "1." Unfortunately, I didn't wind up in dining, but instead in park hours! (Yes, I did dial the WDW Dine #.) Weird! So I hung up, called back, listened to the prompts and got through at about 7:07 am. To a CM who told me she couldn't book anything for May 28 b/c she was doing overflow and didn't have that access.

So she put me back in the queue. I got a 2nd CM around 7:50 am. She was able to make my Chef Mickey reservation plus 1 other. But then she had trouble with a third and offered to put me back in the queue. (I can't even remember the reason for the trouble anymore!) So it's 8 am ish and I am waiting for my 3rd CM. In the meantime, later on, I pick up DH's cell phone to call the WDW TOUR number to make Backstage Magic Reservations. I get right through, but this CM tells me that the tour is booked for May 25 and she can't look at any other dates due to the new/old system. She also confirmed wait times were 2 hours plus for the May 26th and beyond times. So I hung up with her and continued to wait.

After 4 total hours on the phone (3 hours since speaking to 2nd CM) - I ACCIDENTALLY HUNG UP MY CELL PHONE. Didn't know whether to laugh, cry or hit something. About 30 minutes before this happened, I had decided to dial the WDW DINE line a 2nd time after all with DH's phone again. B/c coming up on 3 hours of waiting seemed a bit crazy to me.

So I waited with DH's cell phone -- at pretty much exactly 2 hours (after my first 4 hours), I got through. Phew. Made my Backstage Magic tour ressies first (for May 26) and added a couple more ADRs since I'd had plenty of time to think about it! I finally inquired about V&A too and she said she could transfer me - fortunately no wait time at all for that call!

But there, I ended up with a slightly crazy CM who mumbled, talked to herself and took 20 min. to find our package reservation despite me repeating all info to her 3 times. But bless her heart she stuck with it til we got in b/c she knew it was supposed to work! :)

Does anyone else really miss the days of being able to eat where you wanted when you wanted by making reservations that day once you arrived at a park? :(

What a nightmare, but now we're set with Biergarten, Chefs de France, Mama Melrose, Chef Mickey and Victoria & Albert's. And of course our tour!

Thank you for listening - I feel better now.

That is crazy!! I just called to confirm ADR's for next week and I think I was on hold for 10 minutes.

I'm re-posting the events of my day here too -- I replied to another thread. It makes me feel better to see it in print a 2nd time. :)

I got up at 530 this morning and called at 6am. I got through right away but had to wait almost 4 hours to make my ressies! But I did get everything I wanted and for the times I wanted. Including LeCellier.

Okay, now I am nervous. We travel May31-June7, and the calendar says I can start making ADRs March 2. That's correct, right? I thought when I called bright-and-early on March 2 that I could make May 31 + 10 days (in our case, + 7 days). So why did OP have to call back after making an ADR at Jiko's?

And the waits!!!!!:scared1:

Best,
Jeni

I was on hold for over 3 hours starting at 7:00Am this morning. I finally had to hang up *** I had to go to church. Then after church I called back and was on hold for almost 2 hours. I finally got all the ADR's I wanted at the times I wanted . Including Ohana, Le Cellier, Jiko, California Grill.... I still can't believe that I'm paying so much money for a vacation with a company that has such poor customer service. I hope this is not a sign of how the rest of this vacation is going to go. If so, Disney has seen my last dollar!!

Just so everyone knows, you should be able to make reservations for Chef Mickey, CRT and Victoria & Albert's through June 19, regardless of when you check in to your resort. Those three have been available through June 19 since about mid December.

Hope this helps someone call now (when it's less crazy) and spend less time on hold right away in the morning.

I got up at 5:45 this morning so I could call right at 6:00 a.m. Central time. I was on hold for three hours! Coming up on the third hour I decide that I really needed to get my day started, so I was in the bathtub when the CM finally came on the line. I was so happy to hear an actual "real" person, I about dropped my phone in the bathtub! I told the CM I was half crazed from listening to Zippety Do Da over and over. I tried not to splash any water because I didn't want to have to explain that I was sitting in the tub while I was making my ADR's!

OMG that was crazy! Glad you were able to get what you wanted!

All of you people on hold for 3 hrs!!! Holy crap!! That's just absolutely insane. I guess that's one reason that I'm glad this trip we are staying CL and I can turn everything over to the IPO and have them deal with it all so I don't get mad waiting for that long!
