Hi All

My 180 mark is tomorrow and am very excited :) :) . So i can start booking stuff.

I know the question is asked so so much. But it my turn this time!!!! :thumbsup2

There is 7 (5A, Boy 5, Girl 2) of us going and we are staying at OKW for 2 week. And we have got the free DDP.

Some of us went a 3 years ago (AKL) and we only booked a few things as we were paying for the meals.

The ones i booked in 2008 were

Chef Mickey's - Breakfast (Loved will do again)
Crystal Palace - Late Breakfast (Not really impressed, wont do again)
Hollywood & Vine - Fantasmic dinner (Ok, but will try 1 of the other 2 this time)
CRT - Lunch (Loved it, but been there done that)

Other we did while we were there

Tutto Italia Ristorante Epcot - Dinner (really enjoyed that went twice)
Boma - Dinner (good, did a few times as stayed at AKL)
Tony's Town Square - Dinner during MNSSHP (poor wont be going there again)
And we did quite a few evening at the F&W festive things and quick serves

So far i have got these to definiately book

T-REX®, A Prehistoric Family Adventure
Chef Mickey's
Le Cellier Steakhouse
Tutto Italia Ristorante

These are maybe's

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall ??????
Coral Reef Restaurant
A fantasmic dinner package (mama or brown derby , but not sure which)

And any others you guys suggest.

Sorry you didnt like CP,we did a very early breakfast there last year and loved it.

Character meals -

Garden Grill in EPCOT . Mickey,Goofy,Chip & Dale.

We loved this year and that is now 1st down for October. The food was lovely and the character interaction was just wonderful. So relaxed and not at all rushed...Loved,loved, loved it.

Tusker House in AK. Mickey, Daisy and Goofy.....Donald is outside for pictures.

This was really good too. I really liked the restaraunt decor here.We had a great server who my DS said was the best laugh ever !! Food wise it was usual breakfast fair and the breads and pastries.....

I have to run now but I have other suggestions and if no one meantions them before then I will post later.

I'm off on the 26th Sep so with my calculations I should be able to make my ADRs tomorrow too :cool1:

They look fine to me. However I tend not to criticise someone's choices in any event, unless it looks apparent that it is an inappropriate one based on info they have provided re. preferences. You can eat at the same place twice and have two completely different experiences. Or two groups of people can dine together and one party loves it while the other vows never to return.

I am sorry that you didn't have a good time at CP. That is our favourite character meal and we have eated several breakfasts and lunches there, as well as a dinner and had great food service and character interaction every time.

Is it more character meals you are looking for or just some family ones? Or a bit of both? Epcot has such a good selection of very different places to eat and I think the WS is a perfect setting for a lovely meal. What kind of food do you particularly like? What do you prefer to avoid?

That looks right :) Do you have a line-up ready and waiting?

During free dining resturants get booked up pretty fast, I have managed to get all I have wanted except for the fantasmic package as October dates not been uploaded onto the dysney system yet.

If I were you I would book all your ADR's as soon as you can, I looked for Le Celier and this was fully booked for lunch for the whole of our stay (22nd Sep to 6th Oct). This maybe because dinner is now 2TS credits.

I have booked

Boma - Never tried before
50's Prime Time - Love it
1900PF - A must for DD
Tusker House - Breakfast, never tried before
Ohanah dinner - A new one for us, looking forward to checking out the polly
Chef de France - New one for us
Hoop de doo Review - 2TS credits
Raglan Road...love it
Akershus - Never done before but looking forward to it for DD
Tepenado - New to us, great reviews
Crystal palace - Love going for eary Bfast, great for photos in front of the castle
Whispering Canyon - another new one

We have been to Garden grill and loved the character interaction Chip and dale were fab but we didn't realy like the food.

When we have free dining we just like to try lots of different resturants as to be honest if we are not paying we haven't got alot to loose

I didn't enjoy CP for breakfast either, much preferred CM, CP was OK for evening meal.

Top of our list for this year is Garden Grill, one of our fave meals last year, great character interaction and back to Liberty Tree for 3rd time.

Tutto & Le Cellier we did in 2009 really enjoyed both(fave 2 out of 21 days of DDP) but last year didn't enjoy either half as much.

I wouldn't go on anyones advise, just do your research on the menus and try them for yourself. Every restaurant has its fans and others that say they will never return, I won't go back to Cali Grill for example but others think its the best place in Disney.
Pick the menus you like look of and locations you want to dine at.

I have been looking on various websites. And I know everybody can have different experiences.

But the crowd on here are all good guys.

And just enquiring in case so that I don't miss something I would have loved to have done. As would kick myself if I didn't do it.

As last time was the 1st time I had done fantasmic. And I had been to wdw on 3 previous visits.

With such a large crowd of you and two young children can i suggest Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. It is such a fun TS meal, lots of CM interaction and plenty to keep kids entertained including horse racing! This will give you an idea
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYmOVuLqePw&NR=1 Also the skillit is a great meal for you all to share, and you can eat as much as you want:)

Coral Reef I think would be great if you were sitting right next to the tank but as we weren't the kids were not as excited about it as I thought they would be ! Food was nice, nothing special.

My son chose to go back to nine dragons this year as he loves chinese and my daughter wanted to go back to Sci Fi Diner.

We are also going back to Mama Melrose and Boma as we all loved those.

The only one I wouldnt rush back to was Chef Mickeys , we had dinner there and the food was ok but we waited for ages ,it was a bit 'canteeny' and the character interaction was rushed.

I dont think you can go wrong with any of the places really though !

I must say I am thinking of our ADRS for this year and after staying onsite for 5 years I still have to plan and think where to eat. Its always nice to try new places. Its hard when your other half likes different food to you:rotfl: Our definates will be chef de france(lunch) Captains grill(dinner -my favorite) and crystal palace(dinner).Like others have said what suits one doesnt suit another. So many to choose from I know.Have a look at the grand floridian cafe and the afternoon tea they do-another two on my list-look lovely.

AndyBlizz - are you booking your ADRs online?

I just tried to do mine and having trouble locating my reservation :sad2:

Perhaps I'm trying too early in the day lol

As I am on the CS dining plan I'm only making 4 ADRs:

Boma
Yachtsmans
Sanaa
and Tusker House for lunch

11am Tim for online reservations, 12 Noon for phone reservations.

Just in case you didn't know, DDP is not accepted here. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip.

But it is a must, so may have to pay for 1 meal then :rotfl::rotfl:

When we went in 2008 it opened 2 days before we came home and we couldn't get a table.

My Son was only 26 months when we went last time but he's remember not been able to go there. And has asked to go this time.

He also remeber the "great big" lego shop. And he is now so into Star Wars Lego (just like his Dad :thumbsup2 ) That this year visit(s) to the shop i will need a new mortgage to pay for !!!!!!!!!!

Thats a point Tim, have you got your 12 digit US res number? or the res number mixed with letters?(3 letters & 5 numbers)
So confusing, I don't know why they can't just use 1 system, 1 res number for everything.

It looks like a really fun restaurant. We're staying onsite for a couple of days before our cruise and we won't have the DDP at that point, so we may well follow suit and pay OOP too. ::yes::
