How do you get reservations for the Royal table when we just booked our trip in early August for the first week of October? There are 3 adults and 7 year old twin girls and it is their birthday and would love to go. I keep checking the site and calling what are the chances of getting this reservation?

Keep checking, I snagged a Le Cellier lunch reservation for Sept, and I have seen CRT table reservations periodically pop up. So don't give up, check everyday, multiple times if you can. Sending some pixie dust for you!pixiedust:

Keep checking! Cancellations happen all the time especially now with the cancellation fee (fairly sure CRT is included as it's a pre paid meal) Keep checking, even the few days before even if you're at the park. People can cancel up to 10pm the night before to avoid the cancellation fee.

You might have to take a time that isn't ideal but it's worth it if you really want the reservation. If a time comes up, book it, you can always change it if a better time comes up!

Not to discourage you, but this is our 6th time going to disney in the last 4 years and every year we have tried to get into CRT with no success. We also always stay concierge level so *supposedly* they keep trying to look for it for us, but it has never happened. I'm convinced you have to book at the earliest moment or just have sheer luck to get into this place.

there have been recent reports of walkups, and of CMs at the restaurant trying to encourage walkups. Cancellation is required or pay a hefty fee for not showing up, since it's a prepaid event. It is not impossible. Keep checking, be flexible about which meal and what time.

Be sure and sign-up for the October cancellations thread. People often announce on there that they are going to cancel ressies before they do it.

We have got a LUNCH walk-up ressie twice but they were both for just 2 people.
Lunch might be easier.

We have been very lucky. Our first year we had 'Ohanas booked but my son freaked out over seeing Stitch in the park. So we went to the desk at Pop and there was a cancellation for CRT the next day. I would keep calling especially that week before because people do cancel. And I would go to the desk when you are in MK....couldn't hurt!

Good luck!

I was able to get a ressie without a problem on our last two trips, but we went in early May and I called as soon as our window opened up. I would imagine with FD being offered around that time that it might be a bit more difficult to snag a ressie then. Like everyone else suggested, I would just keep trying! People change their plans all the time! Good luck!

Just keep trying. It was the last of our must do reservation requests. I checked three times a day on line for every day of our stay b/l/d (was willing to cancel other reservations for this). that meant 33 inputs, three times a day! Took about 2 weeks of checking and one day, there it was. Was so surprised that it took me a few seconds to realize why the screen looked different from the usual "there's no availability" screen :rotfl2:

Again, keep trying and regularly check the cancellation thread.

Thank you everyone. I am on a mission and I feel pixie dust is coming our way.

Since they went to 3 character meals a day, CRT has not been really that tough to schedule, compared to how it used to be. It used to be that you could call straight up at 7 AM 90 days out (when ADRs were all 90 days) and you could be shut out.

That said, 2 months out can be pretty tough though. Keep trying. I'm sure something will come up, especially since you can choose from breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Check the online site many times a day. If you're a party of 3 but only see an opening for 4, book it, then call to have it adjusted to 3. Don't stop trying when your trip gets close at hand. Many wait until the very last minute to cancel. Try 45 days out, which is the last time people can cancel their trips without penalty.

Best of luck to you!

Although not the same as eating in the castle...the girls can also see the princesses at 1900 Park Fare dinner and Askerhus (so if you see a meal open up at one of these places, you may want to snag it as a backup-and of course cancel in plenty of time if you do get CRT)

The first year we went we didn't do CRT we did akersus which everyone loved, last year we did CRT and akersus this year We are doing the same. Our trip is 40 days out now and I am seeing a ton of openings everywhere that weren't there last week! So keep trying!!!!

Your party size of five might be part of the problem. Try booking for a party of six and see if that's accepted. You will have to pre-pay for all six, but then you can call back and cancel the sixth person for a refund.

(It's much easier to cancel a single person for a pre-paid meal than it is for a "regular" ADR. No worry about only being able to do it if a reservation for the smaller party size is available.)

So your reservervation wouldn't be canceled and rebooked (for a different time) if you removed one person?

Nope - with CRT you can simply remove one from the existing reservation. I have done it more than once and it seemed to be no problem.

We snagged a pretty last-minute ADR on our last trip. When we got there, I was checking in while waiting for DH and DD to join me. A pretty large party (maybe 6?) walked up to the podium to check for openings. The CM said she could seat them right then. This was about 9:40.

The trip before that I made an ADR for just me and DD. My husband was planning to ride the roller coasters while we ate. When I checked in, the CM said he was more than welcome to join us. Both times there were no ADRs available online. So it never hurts to ask when you get there.

I think this varies a lot.

My friend tried really hard to get an ADR last year for their 25th anniversary but was a little late with it and could only get a table for 2 at lunch and 2 at dinner (they had their 2 daughters along). She asked at lunch if there was any way to seat all 4 for lunch and was turned down cold. She and her husband ended up having lunch and the 2 daughters had dinner. So it very much depends on the current capacity.

Just chiming in to say keep trying! We scheduled a last-minute trip for spring break (super crowded time) last year and were able to score a dinner reservation. I believe CRT with the pre-paid reservation has a 48-hour cancellation window (not the day before like other CC hold reservations), so start looking about a week or so out and you will start seeing availability crop up. Lots of stuff came available that week. Check a few times throughout the day. I also have a lot of success juggling reservations around at the last minute by checking availability frequently throughout the last week before my trip.

And as others mentioned subscribe to the cancellations thread for your month! I think that was how I scored the CRT reservation for that trip!

Good luck!
