ADR for MK?

I am trying to decide on all our ADR's for our December trip. I'm stumped with what to do for MK. The trip is just DH and I, no kids this time. I don't really want to do any character meals just because I'd like dinner time to be our down time. So, something a little less chaotic would be nice. I was going to hop over to OHana but I read some reviews where people said it was too noisy and the food wasn't great. Because I've never been to WDW I don't know the distance to any of the resorts. I'd be willing to travel to another resort to eat but I'd like to know how far away it is. Any suggestions?

TIA!

The MK area resorts are the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Wilderness Lodge. I would suggest The Wave at the Contemporary Resort (short monorail ride), the Grand Floridian Café (guess where that is), or perhaps Kona Café at the Polynesian (but that's supposed to be a bit loud since it's open to the resort). Your other MK-area options are either Signature Dining (which are 2-credits: California Grill, Cítricos, Narcoossee's, Artist Point) or characters (Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare), except for Whispering Canyon Café at the WL, which is chaotic to say the least.

If you want to stay in the parks, maybe Tony's, an Italian restaurant on Main Street.

There is also the Liberty Tree Tavern (non-character now) and don't forget the Plaza for a very nice, light meal in a really good atmosphere.

For a simple meal we like The Plaza in MK.
I also agree with Grand Floridian Cafe....a hidden gem. Very nice, quiet.

Okay, one last question...

Here are a list of the ADR's I want. We'll be there from Dec. 7th-12th.

DHS - Sci Fi
MK/Contemp. Resort - The Wave
Epcot - Coral Reef (w/ CP Pkg)... do we know if you can do this online yet? (the CP pkg part)
AK - Boma
Epcot - Rose & Crown Pub

Which one do you think will be the hardest to get?

Thank you everyone!!

what time for boma--breakfast or dinner? CP can be booked 90 days out. rose and crown might be a tricky one IF you are wanting it for illuminations. that is no guarantee, but if you are willing to wait, you might get an outside table w/a fabulous view of fireworks.:yay:

We were planning on Boma for dinner. I'm only planning on 1/2 day at AK and I've heard that you should ride the safari ride in the evenings to see more animals. Would morning be better? We plan on heading over to DTD for the other 1/2 of the day. Getting too see Illuminations at Rose & Crown would be awesome, but totally not a deal breaker because I've heard it's hard and it's first come first serve. The other thing is, because it's just the 2 of us I don't mind eating at off times. With all this talk about the ADR's and how hard it is to get in I'm getting really nervous. My 90 day mark is Sept. 8th, I just hope I can figure out the online system and get everything done so I can stop worrying. :rotfl:

You can do Boma as a walk up for a 15 minute wait. At MK all my friends love Tony's Town Square. Food is adequate, atmosphere is like an italian bistro. Haven't done Plaza at Disneyworld. At Disneyland it is bordering on table service. Ate there years ago and it was counter service all the way. Haven't been there in years. Coral Reef has the best lunch menu and you can get in without a ressie with a 15 minute wait for lunch. . .never tried dinner.

That's about it. Everything else requires a ressie. Make the ressies even if you don't keep them in the end. Its soooooo worth it.
