ADR for 8 at Cali Grill...what happens if you end up with less people...

Our 180 day mark is coming up. I want to book Cali for 8 people...but there is every chance that two of our kids won't be able to make it...it is six months away, after all! So, if I book for 8 with a credit card and 4 months from now I find out that only 6 are coming, what can I do? Do I call and see if they can drop two off the ADR? I am thinking not, because they will have had us booked at an 8 top table and now we need a different table size??? Anyone?

I am not sure but I "think" the table size might be okay going from 8 to 6. It would be more of a problem I think going to 4 or less. I know that you can cancel within a certain time period. Some did post that they showed up with less than the number they originally planned for (by ~2 as well) and didn't call and just showed up with the less number and they were not charged for the "missing people"
